Still sucks, but USSR 2.0 didn’t quite get what they expected from their original Finlandization experiment, did they? If the Poles ache to go after RUS because of their history, this must be stoking a fair bit of future UKR white-hot nationalists down the road.
No good for this generation of Ukrainians, but I like to think (naively hope?) the wheels of the gods grind slow but finely.

Actually, I regret this picture; it's a disservice to Chamberlain. Neville was naive but he really wanted and hoped for the best for his people. He was trying to avoid a repeat of the horrors of the Great War.

Well all the Trump whisperers were saying that he was really going to put Putin in a box and save Ukraine, despite his past statements and pronouncements from his cult. Agreed. War should be avoided at all costs. And when its begun, it needs to conducted with a brutal and violent efficiency and complete concentration of the nation.
A bunch of us called it. Trump selling out Ukraine and cozying up to Putin was obvious and predictable.
Ukraine and Taiwan are likely both giving serious consideration to establishing their own nuclear deterrent. Both would be foolish not to at this point.
You mean strategic level or policy experience might have been relevant considerations!?
