The War in Ukraine

Or being held accountable for its literally THOUSANDS if documented war crimes or returning all kidnapped kids and prisioners
well if step one of his great peace plan is to give Putin everything he wants. I'm sure step two will be ukraine gives up all claims on the children/POWs and Zelensky must personally give a handy to every russian veteran.

Love him or hate him, he's the dealmaker, so I suspect it's hard wired - especially dealing with parties he feels he has over a barrel.

Meanwhile, word of some movement via Truth Social here and here (highlights mine) ....

Interesting difference in tone between the two updates. We'll see how things unfold now 🤞

Late edit, adding some MSM and US state media* updates:

* - No, not being partisan here. Voice of America is "VOA is part of the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM), the government agency that oversees all non-military, U.S. international broadcasting. It is funded by the U.S. Congress," including the editorials "Reflecting the Views of the U.S. Government"
One would think the country being invaded should have a seat at the table?

This smells a lot like Trump’s negotiations with the Taliban but without the Afghan government. We all know how that ended.

Russia also withdrew the 90s law recognizing the independence of the baltic's as well, which is exactly where he will try and test NATO, that or he will take over all ukraine then roll in to Hungary, and Orban would let him, essentially making Article 5 useless.
I think his first target would be Moldova. Much smaller with no NATO tripwires.

100% - I guess that's why he called them second, and shared a far less glowing social media post after the call. Ironic that it looks like one of the first meetings'll take place in Munich.

Meanwhile, others want in on the action, too ...
... which is starting to remind me of a line from one of my fave movies:

Russia now openly gloating that Trump gave them everything they wanted.

Well done America.
Well, note the timings of POTUS47's Truth Social posts re: who he called first ;)

Looks like some initial underwhelmed-ness on the part of UKR leadership.
... Now most of this is due to the last minute Hail Mary by President Biden (just think what could have occurs if he hadn’t slow walked aid).
The buck for sure stops with POTUS46, but it wasn't as if Republicans didn't drag their feet more than just a bit along the way, too :(

Few US Presidents have been up to the task in the last few decades.
Notable fails: Clinton for abandoning Somalia, Bush for not reacting to Russian invasion of Georgia - while the the Georgians where in Iraq support OIF, and Obama for letting the Russians into Ukraine, Trump45 for the Afghan "negotiations", Biden for the Afghan bail out, and slow walk of aid, now Trump47 poised to either take the mantel of most incompetent - or hopefully will rise to Reagan levels of effort - I must admit with some of his choices, such as a Russian sympathizer as DNI, I am not holding out hope.

I'd add Clinton for fucking Rwanda - the current situation in the Congo, in fact the situation since about 1998, would not be occurring.

Not to mention more than one POTUS of both colours - and a range of western governments - screwing over anti-ISIS Kurds :(
