In the best tradition of the British army, those with an IQ higher than room temperature need not apply.

very quick question , I was reading on the forum today about some CT application and whatnot , but they were 5-6-7 years ago , so I was wondering if it changed at all or if its the same exact thing.

I'm a qualified gunner in the Primary Reserve , applying for a transfer in the air force ( 3 choices are : AWS Tech , Artillery and AVS TECH ).  Some people are saying that since AWS and AVS Tech are looking for new recruits right now , that the transfer SHOULD BE easier and faster ( don't know if its true at all ).

Some people at my unit are also saying that if I apply for a transfer , they might send me to ST-Jean to do BMQ all over again ? is it true?

Thanks

I've had my CT in since February and I started off with the mindset of this taking a long time. I figured 3 years start to finish.

Got word in sept that they got my application in august (online application) and were currently working on march. I had been worried; hearing nothing that I might have missed a call or email somewhere to set up...something or whatever.

Got all my receipts and admin handshakes through email a few days after I submitted in Feb (saved them!)

Asked them in sept; anything else I can do?

Yeah, send us your MPRR.

Great, did that and silence, figure wheels are in motion. Then I get this message a few weeks back; "Have you applied for a CT before?"

-"no, just the one in feb, got it in aug, working on march, as of sept", ect.

I'll throw in now that by the person's word choice and spelling march as "marsh" (sic), i think this person is french, so I took it to mean they had no record of my CT, or might have lost it based on how they worded things. They didn't mean; "what are you, new?" or "did you do this right?", they meant; "can't find it anywhere."

"BS" I say to myself (and only myself) "No, just the one in feb" I send back and here are the emails you sent me; receipt and the feb/marsh(sic)/aug/sept email, anything else from you ref; my CT.

Since then; (3 weeks) nothing. No; "oh, yes here it is. We are overworked, doing our best, ect" To which I would have replied; "no prob, I understand".

I'm dry on my advice pool at this stage.

Should I keep waiting and trust in the crown and whatever gods may be that it's trickling down, or should I re-apply? if I re-apply and it is still in motion, will that mess things up?

Now, yes; it's my first CT, but I applied online and my BOR clerks helped me through it. So I am confident it was done right.

Thanks for your time and patience.

Did you apply for one trade, then change your application to another trade?

I'm thinking *maybe* they were asking because they had application A (say, for RMS Clk) and application B (say, for Sup Tech) and they weren't sure which one was accurate.

Or have you always applied for this one trade, and that's that?

Is that permitted? I didn't see a number on the email.

I'm almost looking at this like my buddy's police applications; if I bug them, they *will* loose my application.

My Coy clerk suggested I wait till the new year and said if I resubmit, I'll be starting all over again.

During the CT process, each file is assigned to a "Broker" and I do think that usually you are informed of "who" your CT Broker is.  If you don't know, then I'd suggest you just ask the question.  Once you do find out, then you will have a "single" point of contact, who can answer your questions directly.

The other option (which I just did for someone on this forum) is contact the Occupation Manager to find out who the Broker is.

Just email the directorate (DMCPG_5_CT-DPGCM_5_ME@forces.gc.ca) and ask who it is.

quick question , how long is it until a broker is assigned to your case ?

I applied for my CT/OT by the end of September.  I got told it might take a while , but am I suppose to get an email from someone letting me know I now have a broker or ?

I just want to make sure that since I'm completing my studies while hoping to get my OT/CT it's not messing anything , or not making me get dropped down to next year.

The CT process is right here.

The Broker is assigned right after you apply.........

If you don't know who your broker is, you need to email DMCPG 5-2 to find out.

Ill email them , because ever since the automatic message about "not emailing them if we have questions" I never had any updates and I never knew who my broker was , or how to get in touch with him or whatever ....

some people in my unit told me he was going to email me sometimes .... but that's about it !

I am in the same boat, much like many others in my unit.

The general consensus I've gathered is that it takes roughly 5-6 months for DCMPG 5 to get back to you from the moment you put in your CT in. (I've asked a bunch of people who want to go into various t trades ACISS -> ACISS, ACISS -> ARTY, ACISS -> AESOP, ACISS -> MP, ACISS -> AWS TECH) Once they email you back, you have no idea who your broker is all, the only thing you know they have received and begun processing Cpl XXX's CT.

Everything I've had to update (Academics, Medical, Trade Change) I've gotten my Chief Clerk to email the generic DCMPG5 general email and it usually takes 1-2 weeks to get a response. With all that being said I know of two infanteers (inf -> inf) and two sigs  (ACISS -> ACISSS) CT in just shy of a year. (Between 2014-2015). The system is moving, just not as quickly or with as much information as some of us would like. (I am aware that they are very understaffed).

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I have heard that there are many, many open files, which results in delays.  I've also heard (on the plus side) that there is increased interest in increasing the number of CTs, so this may be getting more heat and light.
