    January 2010 BMQ

    The joining instructions say 8.5" x 14" lined paper 1 - 1 1/2 pages + cover page, so I assume so.

Check the St-Jean joining instructions, you can find them here: http://www.cflrs.forces.gc.ca/menu/pd/ir-ji/ir-ji.pdf (From the Joining Instructions thread in the Basic Training forum) - You'll find the outline in there for the content of your autobiography (I, as well as the group I was sworn...

    I am really confused

It appears to be so! Let us have a laugh at the irony present in my post!

    I am really confused

I don't want to sound like a dick, but are you sure you actually read a lot? I'm not sure how you could have come this far without seeing this: http://forces.ca/html/infantrysoldier_reg_en.aspx and the large section called TRAINING and other sections that precede and proceed it. Should answer...

    Awaiting the "offer"

I'm uncertain if there are any current signing bonuses for Sig Ops as well, as I said, I never heard mention of any, but my exposure is minimal. Anecdotally, it seems that recruiting for Sig Ops is going pretty well, so they may not/no longer have a need for signing bonuses. Your description of...

    Awaiting the "offer"

I swore in on 6 January, 2010 and signed my contract - 4 years, NCM Signals Operator - there was never a mention of any sort of bonus at any point in time during the application or enrollment process nor on the job offer/contract.

    Awaiting the "offer"

It took me approximately a month between my interview and receiving my job offer. Hang in there, it's totally worth it! I'm reporting to base for BMQ on Saturday!

    January 2010 BMQ

The Borden joining instructions seem to be more-so in regards to Naval Reserves training, I would probably follow the St-Jean joining instructions in terms of material to bring for a regular force BMQ course and just use the Borden document for the address/driving instructions. Someone correct...

All things LASIK surgery (aircrew/other -- merged)

When I got LASIK, I was told by a recruiter that the minimum wait time was 6 months before I could apply. 6 months later, after undergoing the application process, I was informed by the Sgt who did my medical interview that it was only 3 months and that it was 6 months for the Pilot trade. It...

    January 2010 BMQ

Thanks for the quick reply! I'll assume, for all intents and purposes, that since BMQ is run on the same set of standards in Borden as St-Jean, that the St-Jean joining instructions posted on this forum and required material to bring are more or less the same with the main difference being the...

    January 2010 BMQ

NoCashBob, did you get your joining instructions yet with the list of stuff you'll have to bring with you to BMQ, etc.? I hear from one recruiter that I am only getting mine and the security clearance form at the enrollment ceremony one week before I leave for BMQ and then another recruiter...

    January 2010 BMQ

Yeah, I'm being sent to Borden for BMQ and I'm in Montreal. Definitely not complaining either :D I assume it's just because they have a lot of recruits awaiting training, especially after the Christmas/New Year holiday block and being picked for Borden was just the way the cookie crumbled...
