I was wondering why site was down, when a friend told me about how www.fark.com had listed the army website...

Well, it looks like army.ca got listed on fark, supposedly they thought it was the official army site, and were proud of themselves for having brought it down with so many people trying to look at it...

Yeah... the site was farked last night... while I was trying to respond to something or other.

Those Farkers are all a bunch of wankers who have opinions of everything, while usually knowing nothing.

It was interesting, however, to watch the "conversation" devolve from comments about the site to an all-out Canada v. USA flame war.

Still... I have never been more pissed at that website as I was last night.

Wow. Well that explains it then. And here I thought it was a "natural" disaster.

Thanks for pointing this out, that actually helps the cause analysis go *much* faster.

Anyway, we‘ll keep on going to the best of our ability. Seems they‘re still FARKing us somewhat, but the deluge has slowed down.


It must be nice to have nothing better to do than sit back and take pot shots at other people‘s efforts. I guess you accept a challenge that‘s on par with your skills...

I don‘t think the intro is bad at all. Granted, I never view it, but that‘s because I have it turned off with the cookies and all.

As I said... these people all have opinions, and most of them aren‘t very well informed about those opinions.

I am extremely greatful that you have created thise site, Mike... It is a wonderful place to meet people in the forces and people interested about the forces, and gain ideas and see what I can expect in my future career.

Frankly, I wouldn‘t change a thing. I watched the intro last night (some kid had mirrored the swf file), and I thought there was nothing at all wrong with it. A good bit of flash.

Heheh, thanks guys... I constantly have a list of about 50 things I want to improve here, but hopefully things are good enough to get the job done.

It was actually a relief to find out what happened: better a forced overload of the site than some other (harder to solve) problem. This one will just go away when their attention span runs out.

I was tempted to reply to the thread at FARK, but really, nothing good can come from that... They did make a couple attempts to hack the server, but (fingers crossed) so far so good.

I have also taken a backup, for good measure.

I don‘t get what they think is so bad about the flash introduction.. I‘ve always thought it‘s pretty cool..

And I‘m sure it‘s a lot better than most of them could have made..

I guess one in-duh-vidual gets an opinion, and everyone decides to use that opinion without forming their own.

I‘m reading that thread, and tearing my hair out, MY GOD for every good thing the internet has done there are a few dark alleys where the crackheads of cyberspace hang out.

I like the intro, I mean obviously if someone doesn‘t have the intelligence to get past that part of the website then they‘re probably in too much of a hurry to get on to their 23 hour a day job of downloading pornography.

You know what you should do Mike, you should devote your entire life to the internet, and specifically this website so you can EARN the respect of the obviously intelligent (and probably very talented, respectable and sexually apt HA) children at the Fark website. We should have figure that out when they thought it was the official website, and that we spelled honour incorrectly.

The thing about the people who go to fark, is that most of them are too young to even legally view the ‘boobies‘ links posted on fark. They get beaten up at school, then come home to go on to the internet where they think they know all.

On that same note Korus, what‘s funny is they usually get into mini-flame wars about their "boobies" links... because they "aren‘t real", or "too big/small", or something.

You are right, I am sure.. the majority are dumb kids trying to prove a point. Followed closely by radio stations trying to get "interesting news from around the world"...

Haha you guys...fark is made fun of on my many many sites on the internet for how stupid the people in the comments act. I was suprised to see army.ca when I checked the site last night...but I learned long ago that the people there are like the losers that the rest of the losers on the internet dont even like.
