Uh, Russia didn’t just go into Crimea, Luhansk, and Donetsk in 2014 and withdraw until 2022. They were there the entire time.

So yes, Russia did touch Ukraine during the whole of 45’s term.
They stopped during 45's term. As in they advanced no further.

The right abandoned support to LEO and law and order?
Yep. Jan 6th, convoy etc etc. Turns out support for all that isn’t a value as much as a “when conviennent”
All this time I thought defund the police and disbanding police forces, catch and release, legalizing shoplifting, bailing out antifa and blm rioters, etc was something the left was doing. I wonder what made me think that?
Oh they are too. The difference is at least they didn’t pretend to support all that. I paint both of them the same way.

Strange bed fellows…

I think you might not have heard the last on Jan 6, now that the dems can't drive their agenda. Perhaps somewhere we'll finally get the truth, whatever that may be.

Mind, don't be surprised if they try to void Trump’s election using the insurrectionist clause in the 14th Amendment.

That statement kind of proves my point. LEOs on that line testified but are not believed…

doubtful. The dems control nothing and Harris is set to concede at 16hrs and is rumoured that her message is to accept the results. No fight fight fight, no take back your country and no trial by combat crap. And no trying to sue to stay in office.

Stark contrast.

We'll see when it comes time for the House to certify the vote.😉

Harris already called Trump to congratulate him. Her public concession speech will be later this afternoon at 1600.

I'm going to lean towards most people thinking RUS occupying UKR land - which includes RUS support for both the forces engaging UKR troops and the rump "states" formed by the previous "touching" - constitutes ongoing "touching."

And now we'll see what kind of "one day" solution POTUS47 comes up with between the toucher and those still-being-touched.

So, if he puts 60% tariffs on Chinese products, I’m guessing that China will just stop shipping products to the US.

We use a lot of “made in China” products, so where is the shortfall coming from? And how much will they cost? Will the US public appreciate paying more due to that?

And will China (and other countries) then introduce equivalent tariffs to the US?

It’s been a while since I took business courses but this doesn’t sound like a great idea.
I'm not sure the 'cost' part was ever considered. The entire emphasis was re-homing manufacturing and put an end to 'the world taking advantage of us'.

... All this time I thought defund the police and disbanding police forces, catch and release, legalizing shoplifting, bailing out antifa and blm rioters, etc was something the left was doing ...
Generally, yes, but it also seems to depend on the police in question ;)

too corrupt, too morally compromised and, if not unhinged, he is not that far away from becoming that way.
The establishment doesn't like him because they cannot corrupt him.

What did he do in his last term that wasn't "hinged"?

Abraham Accords?

No new foreign wars?

Cessation of North Korean missile and nuclear tests?

The best economy in many years? My RRSP certainly benefitted from that.

I’m past the “wtf” stage. It’s the “what now” stage.

My concerns are how Canada, and the rest of the world, deal with the next admins’ foreign policies. For example, Trump has been talking tariffs for a couple of weeks now - I would bet that that would include higher tariffs on Canadian imports.

Then there’s NATO, NORAD, USMCA… He already thinks that the US shoulders too much burden, and has signalled a willingness to pull out of NATO. Will he do the same with NORAD? What happens if the Conservatives win, look at the books, and decide that nah, we’re not going to go to 2%? When was the last time Canada did spend 2% of GDP on Defence?

I think Trump will say “spend 2% or more, or we leave NATO and NORAD”. Based on history, I am not convinced that a Conservative govt will just jump at that. I would like to be wrong and that the CPC actually follows through with their promise, but I’m not willing to put money on it.
There's no point in us being in NATO if the US pulls out although I would not overreact too quickly
I have more confidence in the CPC and PP to fulfill our obligations on that account and to manage dealing with the Trump government. Perhaps that is misplaced, time will tell
I do shudder at these USMCA negotiations
