The War in Ukraine

i think its a bad decision but someone says are we going to invest $500 million to up the capacity and capability by which point everyone else will have to and once the war in Ukraine is over there is no market?

Do what everybody else will be doing, build more controlled atmosphere storage and inventory the production.

That will enter into future deterrence calculations.

why cant they line their pockets with this one?
The costs of production are already known, the cost of expansion are already known. Not a lot of room for them to expand and line their pockets at this point.
Had they of 7 years ago started to expand our production they could have hidden costs and pocketed the extra. But war time production is more scrutinized when someone else may be paying the bill then your own tax payers.

I have no words, this is a stab in the back of every ukrainian

Nobody should be surprised by this. Why wouldn’t another sovereign state’s territory be the subject of American transaction?

This is not a surprise. This isn’t a shock or an aberration. This is just who Donald Trump is. Everything and everyone is just a commodity, and his own interests come above all else. Agreements and contracts, norms and conventions, treaties and borders mean only as much as he feels they should, and are malleable to the extent he feels he can get away with it.

I recognize Oregon as a province of Canada Southern BC. Is that how this works?

There, FTFY ;)

Meanwhile, make Crimea Turkish again!

What If Turkey Wanted Crimea Back?

Contrary to what Putin wants to make all of us believe, Russia’s claims to the Crimean Peninsula are historically brittle.

I’m convinced this is a long term plan of Trumps. It sets a precedent for future landgrabs by powerful nations against their smaller or less powerful neighbours…..I certainly hope our Canadian politicians and military leaders are paying full attention to this.

Today, Trump is more likely than ever to sell Ukraine straight down the river with this mornings phonecall with Putin.
With Trump one never really knows.

He is visibly upset with Putin as this point due to his rejection of the 30 day ceasefire, and has said he’s going to be putting more pressure on him.

POTUS seems to be willing to sell Crimea out to Russia, but I view that as a better change from being willing to sell all of the occupied territories earlier. (Still unacceptable)

The energy sanctions are taking a heavy bite from Russia this month, something President Biden hadn’t been willing to do, so Russias position is significantly weaker now.

President Trumps has to know that the Ukrainians won’t accept the loss of Crimea and the majority of European Governments will support Ukraine in this, as well they can’t allow the Russians to have a precedent for absorption by force.
