Hope somebody else gets a chuckle out of this story ... (i.e. "Testicles in the know ...")

A funny thing happened on the way to the Commons
By DAN DUGAS

OTTAWA (CP) - Call it Lost in Translation, the Canadian sequel.

Deputy Prime Minister Anne McLellan is said to be livid over gaffes on a website she helped launch with much fanfare to fight the spread of child pornography.

The problem is, bad translation in the French-language version caused howls of laughter and shaking of heads.

In English, cyberaide.ca. tells readers about "Guys who are aware."

The French version translated that as: "Testicles in the know."

It was later fixed.

And the original name of the French home page translated as the "Man Page" - a strange title for a site devoted to stopping child porn. That was also changed.

The government has set aside $3.5 million for the site.

New Democrat MP Charlie Angus stood on guard for thee, even when a cabinet minister had trouble making out what party he's with.

Angus complained Wednesday that Canadian flag lapel pins bought for MPs and senators to give out were made in China. He demanded that future contracts be awarded to a Canadian supplier.

Public Works Minister Scott Brison seemed flustered by the question and suggested he had a beef with Angus.

"I knew that party was not progressive any more," Brison thundered in the House, referring to the Conservative party.

"Now I learn they are not even conservative."

Oops. Angus is no Conservative.

Despite the slight, Angus came out on top. Brison announced Friday that all new flag pins will be made in Canada.

Those stately Parliament buildings sometimes seem like just another trailer park to Conservative MP Tom Lukiwski.

He told the Commons on Friday that he's discovered an interesting trend in recent issues such as favours for strippers, taxpayer subsidized tattoos for convicts and decriminalization of marijuana.

"The federal Liberals are the Trailer Park Boys of Ottawa," he said.

"And to think, most Canadians believe that Bubbles, Ricky, Julian and the rest of the gang reside in the Sunnyvale trailer park in Nova Scotia when they are really alive and well here in Ottawa sitting on the government side of the House."

It's the full Monte, 24/7.

Conservative finance critic Monte Solberg has launched a blog - that's a web-based log - to give the world his take on federal politics.

The member for Medicine Hat is welcoming visitors to montesolberg.com/blog.htm for regular commentary on politics.

"I want to be generous in this, I'll tease my opponents but I'm not going to go out of my way to embarrass them with gossip," Solberg said.

The former radio station program director said the new thing on blogs is audio and he'd like to get in on that.

"To give people an inside view of what goes on in the House and what goes on around Ottawa, you know, tell them how we were yelling at Anne McLellan or Ralph Goodale - stories apart from policy discussions."

Seems you can take the boy out of radio, but you can't take radio out of the boy.

I like the Trailer Park Boys anology. ;) ;D...much easier to placade than rule, eh boys?
