Cabinet Shuffle- (Wednesday 26 July).

I just took another look at the PM's website. Despite the shuffle being over a month ago, no new ministerial mandate letters have been posted. Are we to assume the previous ones, from late 2021, remain in force?

I assume will be issued close to or when the house sitting resumes.

This - well said and I have been saying things like this - except in a way not as eloquent.

A multiple sex offender was released in Winnipeg today. Every time he gets out he reoffends - he is a well known rapist and inmate - and a violent rapist at that. At some point someone is going to murder this guy because he won't stop raping women. And it seems the Crown is in no hurry to prosecute him as a Dangerous Offender.

You need a Charles Bronson…

TBH the lack of enforcement is what inspires vigilanteism. LA and NY are prime examples of the ebb and flow of the ‘justice’ system and how criminal activities rise and decline depending upon the degree of enforcement.
Often the government only acts when individual citizens are starting to take matters into their own hands.

Why should we waste resources on the murder of a convicted rapist ? Who cares.

If our Gov and agencies wont do anything about it, the people eventually will. And I think we're getting closer and closer to that every day.

Dealing with my whack job neighbor I recently had a LEO tell me to my face, the answer to a situation he was giving me at that moment is not the same one he would give me if he was off duty and chilling on my deck.

This Liberal government cares.

During the announcement of the tabling of Bill C-71, then Public Safety Minister Blair stated something along the lines of "Canadians do not arm themselves or use force for protection against our fellow citizens. We rely on the rule of law!".

I have a similar neighbour who is a frequent flyer in the criminal justice system. Same thing.

Reality might smash them in the face if things don't improve.

Mine isn't criminal, yet. He should, probably, be institutionalized. His latest escapade was posting signs all over his property and vehicle that said:

Child
Porn

That's it. And apparently that's ok to do.

I suspect the problem is that some people, including a lot of politicians, have come to believe that in "our system" the power they exercise to safeguard rights has been permanently surrendered rather than temporarily delegated from individuals. The law might (probably does) take a different position, but as a moral point, when a government fails to uphold its side of a bargain, the power (to decide and act) reverts to individuals.

Positively Orwell-Ien...

Ottawa ‘watching closely’ as provinces change school policy on pronouns, names

Canada’s minister for women, gender equality and youth says policies in Saskatchewan and New Brunswick that require parental consent before students under 16 can have schools use their preferred pronouns and names puts transgender and nonbinary kids in a “life-or-death situation.”

And while Marci Ien declined to comment on whether Ottawa sees a role for itself in any potential court challenges, the cabinet minister said the Liberal government is keeping an eye on what unfolds.

“What I can tell you is that we’re watching closely as this develops,” she told The Canadian Press in an interview Wednesday.

“Obviously anything is possible, but I’m not going to comment on anything hypothetical at this time.”

"Children might die."

Well. Blew right through any attempts to argue the point substantively and went straight to hysterical fearmongering.

It is uncontroversial that people - including kids - ought be called by whatever form of their name (or a nickname) they choose. Sometimes a kid is just sensitive about what might be an odd name (rare, archaic, whatever). No need to categorize and examine the kids' reasons.

so to summarize todays bit of stupidity from OW, we won't tolerate keeping a serial sex offender in custody, will fully prosecute the person who removes him from society permanently, and at the same time parents who want to be informed re; their children could be killing them. Did I get that right?

Remember that I'm a fiscally conservative; social liberal guy BUT - there is a point where if you do not enforce social responsibility and an overarching safety of society in order to cater to either costs or extreme social liberality then you risk that your society might react in ways that you can't imagine or stop.

I'll go off the shoplifting issue for a second and go to the example of eco-protestors and the numerous examples of the police doing nothing to clear major roads of sit-in protestors. The times where citizens are going to take their own actions is getting closer. Police need to police. Prosecutors need to prosecute. Judges need to judge. Too many people think they can do whatever they want with impunity - whether eco-protestors or sovereign citizens or shop lifters.

🍻

If liberals (in the broad sense) won’t enforce the law, the people will elect fascists who will.

Yeah we release serial sex offenders all the time with the police warning the public. It seems judges don't take the complainants cases too seriously, as our one guy gets under two years constantly. He does a few months, takes a program and is released.

I’m guessing once a few judges get “Law Abiding Citizen’d” by irate parents, it may alter their viewpoint…

Probably end up being tagged as a domestic terrorist. Trudeau will use you to decry the rise of white supremecy. Freeland will freeze your bank account and a whole hockey sock of other problems.

I still say we should vote for our judges and crowns.

Prepare to build more jails. The US rate of incarceration is 629 per 100,000 while Canada's was 109. I won't blame all of that difference on elected judges and crowns who know where their bread and butter comes from, but ...
