LPC leadership race - 2025

Not only is it a good move, but would take the wind out of the CPCs sails. The consumer carbon tax has been 80% of their messaging, taking that away will leave a void on their argument.
Good move, for sure, but hard to shake the stink of 9 years with the political skunk. We'll see how it plays ...

Yep. She’s very much has a chain around her neck pulling that. Will be very hard for her to shake it off.

Promising to reverse something you've championed and increased over the last decade is a long stretch. Anyone associated to the current government needs to be summarily dismissed and forgotten about as potential future leaders.
Name me one government politican in any era who hasn't towed the party line when in power. Especially cabinet ministers. We know she resigned over long standing disagreements about policy, this could easily be one of them

The Government has that information.
Luckily the foreign interference report will drop Jan 30th. Unfortunately the cases that have been referred to the RCMP we will not likely hear anything about because it could compromise the investigation.

I don't think it will have as much of an impact as some might hope. The LPC have been running the show for nearly a decade, and people are getting tired of them.

It's pretty easy for the CPC to counter Freeland with the fact she oversaw the finances while the cost of living became uncomfortable/untenable for many Canadians.

Like others promised electoral reform, transparency, etc…

Referred to the RCMP from who?

I have a feeling that our government, even now, has no idea as to the state of influence by China (and other countries) in Canadian affairs. There are probably far more traitors, spies and saboteurs operating here now than the government knows. The Chinese are that good at what they do.
