  • `"Carney has regional strengths compared to Freeland. He holds an advantage in proportion of vote generated for the Liberals in British Columbia (+8) and Ontario (+7). Neither is competitive in the Prairies, and each garner close to equal vote totals in Quebec and Atlantic Canada.
  • Looking at six age and gender combinations, Carney generates higher vote levels for the Liberals among five. Only among women ages 35 to 54 does Freeland bring the Liberals more votes (+7).
  • Notably, the Conservative Party leads in every region other than Quebec and Atlantic Canada by double-digits, regardless of which Liberal leader respondents are assessing."

Interesting that Carney appears to do better with potential Tory and NDP voters…🤨

Probably attracting red Tories and blue grits back in his direction.
Some might even see (if they squint past the staff & cabinet support from JT folks) a bit of Paul Martin in him?
And he’s not Trudeau
True, but the Trudeau Cootie Dial's not completely on zero with him, either. Nothing as bad as the pong on Freeland, though.

That makes sense. I don’t view him that way but I understand the appeal, especially if you don’t pay attention to the minutiae of partisan politics. “Hey, about time the Liberals had a ‘money guy’ running the show!”

Not so much the NDP voters though. They seem much more open to him than to Freeland for some reason.

A person is judged by the company they keep. And I am not impressed by either "candidate".

Long time ago, I talked to a political staffer I knew through work, but who didn't affect my work. She told me for some reason, the NDP were sometimes more willing to work backstage with Conservatives than with the NDP, the the Liberals were more willing to work behind the scenes with Conservatives than NDP. If that still holds true, could be Carney looks different enough from the "evil leftist twin" to some?

They may not be actual NDP voters though just disgruntled liberals who couldn’t stomach voting CPC. Now shifting their support?

Well, a lot of folks have been saying that parties should be able to knock people out of nominations for "reasons we can't say", and here we are ....
I have changed my mind and now favour strong parties with institutional power to say “no” to leadership candidates that don’t suit the party. Too many times in the recent past have there been examples of weak parties or even local riding associations being taken over by special interests or personality cults. Parties need the institutional power to say “We don’t care how many new members you registered, you’re incompatible with the long term interests of the party.”

So Mark Carney tried tried to deny any ties with the WEF when confronted by Alexa Lavoie of Rebel news. Not a good move, there is lots of videos of him speaking at the WEF.
If I were a Liberal I would prefer Freeland or most prefered would be new entry Ruby "Deport illegals" Dhalla

You can be a Liberal and have a say brother! Join the party, we're all doing it!
