I couldn't agree more.
I thought that playing the National Anthem in the morning before classes began in High Schools was something that was adopted nationally? My school did it... I just thought it was normal... and having been a Cadet and the fact my father is a CF vet (he practically drilled The Maple Leaf Forever, O Canada, God Save the Queen, and Soldiers of the Queen since the day I was born ;D) helped a little.
I almost cried when I read the article.... It's heartbreaking to see national pride and national awareness/citizenship in future generations decline like this. It doesn't help that Canadian History is barely taught in Canadian schools these days. Hell, I probably learned more about the US Constitution and Soviet Russia (Cold War Era) than I did about my own $%&#ing country
