i have been told by many people that theres boxing clubs in the army but when i asked a recruiter she said it depends and she wasnt really even sure of it i was wondering how commen this is and if there isnt a club directly on the base would there be a problem joining a club outside of your base and pursuing a sport

I studied martial arts for almost the entire time I was in the service.

When I was in the regular force I had to get a letter of permission from my O.C. stating that the army knew what I was up to and that I was allowed in the event of an accident...

I don‘t know if there is one boxing club that is universal to the entire forces, but alot of formations and bases have their own clubs, boxing included.

I‘m a boxer, but I box in a gym outside of the army, I‘ve never really looked into the club here in Halifax.

My Regiment has a hand to hand combat club. It‘s pretty much based on Jiu Jitsu and other martial arts. The instructors are primarily BBs and have the UCI course.

so with all this being said to what extend does your training cover hand to hand i know its included but is it just a basic defense course or is there alot covered

Boxing used to be an Army sport with competitions to Army level. The Canadian Forces Sports Hall of Fame includes Army boxers. But it no longer is included in the list of sports officially pursued by the Army as an organization. Some bases may have clubs for boxing or other martial arts.
