    Arrested By Civilian Police

As as sidenote, while in Gagetown this past summer our Pl. Warrant basically said if we ended up in some kind of trouble with the law (while offbase) to call him and he'd act as our lawyer, as he put it, and get us out of the slammer. If I ended up in that situation, frankly  I'd have preferred...

    Cougars - NOT the AFV

I couldn't help but have a bloody good laugh at this post....reminds me of a time earlier this summer during one crazy night in Freddy, in the Sweets/Nicky Z's area. Myself and an un-named Newfie buddy of mine (damn good guy, I might add) had a cougar cub-puma-cougar hunt. Turned out...

    Seafood

Does anyone have any suggestions as to a good place to get seafood in the Gagetown area? Myself being landlocked, a trip out East seems like a really good chance (granted it'll have to be in my off time) to get quality goods (i.e. lobster rolls, lobster stew, fried clams, etc) .

    Phonies!!!

I loved SWOTL! It had such a catchy theme song, and entertaining gameplay to boot. But yea, if there's any game that'd spawn off phonies, I'd say it'd be Operation Flashpoint. Possibly due to its fairly realistic gameplay.... but for the rest of us, it's a definite must play.

    Phonies!!!

I figure I just have to share this with everyone, because, needless to say I found it quite funny! Yesterday I was talking to someone who claimed to be a reservist Corporal in an electronic warfare unit. Needless to say, sure I initially gave him the benefit of the doubt, but soon the phoniness...

    Peacekeeping info needed

Yea it confused me too that what appear to be lefties were basically saying that the US is doing more good in terms of peacekeeping. Iraq is a whole different matter, however. University students are strange like that . But what I failed to mention in my previous post is that the majority of my...

    Peacekeeping info needed

Hi all. Alright, this semester I've opted to take a Strategic Studies class, which essentially deals with foreign policies of war, arms control and the like. One topic of the course is Peacekeeping. During a class discussion, most of the members of the class had highly convoluted perceptions of...

    Best Cop shows?

Hmmm....I'd say, in no real order: 1) Kojak - Who loves ya baby? 2) Hill Street Blues 3) Adam-12 4) The entire Law & Order franchise 5) NYPD Blue 6) High Incident 7) Homicide: Life on the Streets

Anyone have the Canadian Forces Manual of Drill and Ceremonial?

I'm running ADSL. 13 meg shouldn't be too hard. I have another e-mail account that might accept a larger attachment. If it's not too much trouble send to ----------------------  . (Edit by M. O'Leary - e-mail address removed after use, to protect member privacy.)

Anyone have the Canadian Forces Manual of Drill and Ceremonial?

I managed to find a copy of A-PD-201-000/PT-000 Canadian Forces Manual of Drill and Ceremonial online, but it was lacking the sections concerning drill w/ arms. Does anyone have a complete electronic copy or know where I can get one. I've tried checking with the Directorate of History and...

Youth violence, and solving the problem

I blame the Liberals for watering down any semblance of punishment in the justice system. Any justice system that lets a monster like Homolka pursue a degree needs a serious change in priorities. As a sidenote, for most offenders I promote the idea of an entirely penal reaction to their crimes...

Youth violence, and solving the problem

No need to get hostile now, I was just stating these as another perspective. Getting overly tough on crime with extremely punitive measures actually doesn't stop crime and may actually increase it. Look at the literature on 'Three Strikes and You're Out' laws for proof. And yes the justice...

Youth violence, and solving the problem

Ok interestingly enough we discussed this exact topic in one of the Criminology classes for my major. Youth violence is actually rather sensationalized, and often the government's response to youth violence is understated. Here's the actual facts: -Youth violence is grossly over-reported, 94%...

    Your Beer Brand of Choice

Beer: Budweiser and Coors for General Purpose Drinking, bear in mind that these are the Canadian-brewed versions, and not the pissy American versions. For a good refreshing Canadian beer, I personally am a fan of Sleeman Honey Brown and Sleeman Cream Ale. I also quite like Rickard's Red. Keith's...
