What if we stopped buying oil from the Middle East until such time as the terrorism is sorted out by the respective countries? 
Could this possibly solve the problem? It seems no matter who you are once you hit the pocket book people and countries start to cave in and sort themselves out.

Just curious as to thoughts on this. How would the use of Bio Fuels and Synthetic fuels help us do this, Is it really feasible?

Not trying to start a argument just curious as to thoughts on this matter.

we'd be pooched, this works for influencing politics, only it works the other way around, if they have something we desperately need and we stop buying it,were the ones getting the raw deal. And you talk like the oil companys are the ones behind the terrorists? which terrorists do you speak of?
Which countrys should we embargo? All of opec? and suddenly terrorism will desappear? Afganistan doesn't have oil would that have prevented 9/11. short answer. NO
this suggestion is full on nieveity.
In a perfect world we'd have the resources not to depend on foriegn oil but we don't and if we don't buy it someone else will, so....
