Trump administration 2024-2028

Does there come a time when we recall our Ambassador?

Recalling our ambassador would be a very good signal to Congress and the American people regarding the seriousness of what Trump is doing. Trump’s economic warfare against U.S. is intended to pound us into submission and to accept America’s domination of Canada, forcing us to become his 51st state. I’m not a legal expert, especially in international affairs, but if I’m correct the term warfare is normally applied to the conflicts involving the military. Semantics aside, what Trump is doing or is trying to do is abhorrent, is designed to hurt people and should be called out by every free nation for what it is…naked aggression by one country against another.

If the E.U. should cave in to Trump’s threats and refuse to consider beneficial trade treaties with Canada then they will be taking another step in their own demise. Things will only get worse, not better.

So, yes, absolutely recall our ambassador.

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Lutnick called Ontario Premier Doug Ford last night, according to my colleague Camille Gris Roy, a Radio-Canada correspondent at Queen’s Park.

The outcome of that conversation? Ontario expects the U.S. to ease the impact of auto tariffs on Canada, according to Ford’s office. They didn’t offer more details.

So at what point does the GOP start questioning the very clearly deteriorating cognitive abilities of the President? Or does that only apply when the other party has the wheel?

If statements like this don't make your blood run cold...

"We need Greenland for national security and international security," Trump said, taking reporters' questions in the Oval Office.

"So we'll, I think, we'll go as far as we have to go," he continued. "We need Greenland. And the world needs us to have Greenland, including Denmark. Denmark has to have us have Greenland. And, you know, we'll see what happens. But if we don't have Greenland, we can't have great international security."

Trump added, "I view it from a security standpoint, we have to be there."

Is Greenland the prize or is Canada the prize or are both?

Is he trying to separate Canada from Europe? Are the Europeans willing to go full tilt to support the Danish in Greenland remaining nominally Danish and Canada is the price?

I trust the bill will be accompanied by an appropriation plan to fund free tinfoil hats for all residents ;)

‘Chemtrail’ ban bill under review in House

The scientific debate about artificially curbing solar radiation to reduce heat has bubbled over into legislative debate about whether the government and private industry are poisoning Arizonans by spraying chemicals from airplanes.

And now, state lawmakers are moving to outlaw the practice of “geoengineering” entirely.

Legislation already approved by the Senate would make it illegal to intentionally release or dispense “any chemical, chemical compound, substance or apparatus” within Arizona designed for “solar radiation management.” SB1432 specifically defines this as injecting aerosols into the stratosphere to reduce the amount of sunlight reaching the planet.

I'd say both - then there is no water border with Greenland/Denmark to worry about and the NW Passage becomes the Northern American Inland Sea when Canada is no longer Canada...

Excuse me, the Fertilisation President has earned more respect for his intellect than to have his cognitive abilities questioned by the likes of you.

Greenland takes savage step to freeze out Usha Vance ahead of controversial trip over 'underlying agenda'

A Greenlandic tourism business which was due to host Usha Vance has canceled the trip amid the Trump administration's 'underlying agenda' for the visit.

President Trump has made no secret of his ambition to annex Greenland, and locals have slammed his percieved stealth mission through the Second Lady's upcoming trip.

Tupilak Travel in Nuuk revealed on Facebook on Wednesday that the US Consulate had reached out to them to schedule a meet-and-greet with Usha.

She wanted to visit their souvenir store on Friday as part of her trip.

'We replied that she would be happy to,' the store owner said. 'Everyone is welcome in the store.'

It was initially billed as a family-friendly holiday with Usha and one of her children to immerse themselves in Greenlandic culture and visit the annual dogsled competition.

Then it emerged that she would be joined by embattled National Security advisor Mike Waltz, sparking fury among the nation's leaders - including the prime minister.

But the final straw came when Usha's husband, Vice President JD Vance, revealed he, too, would join her on the trip - arguing that he didn't want to miss out on all the fun.

We share a land border with Greenland.
That too , but the Nares Strait is only 35km across at the narrowest between Greenland and Ellesmere...could possibly classify that as a sea border. While we're thinking about that, don't we also have a sea border with France, given where St Pierre& Miquelon are...wouldn't be surprised if he tries buying them off of France next...

The biggest 'win' could come from Japan/Korea (about 2.8million autos exported to the US) onshoring a number of new plants in the US. Between the 2 of them they represent about 17% of autos imported to the US. If Trump can manage to get about 6% of that 17% that's around 1million new autos produced in the US. The vast majority of those 'parts' plants are not located in the US as well. Getting 1/3 of those parts plants located in the US would be another large win.
But why would either of them do that when they would then be subject on paying tariffs on steel and aluminium imports needed to make said cars, as well as the massive costs and efforts needed to build factories and train people on the exacting QC processes that actually result in the quality of cars they build, especially when now they are caught up in US politics?

Just had to replace my car, and bought a Subaru, and they are selling them faster then they can get them. I wouldn't have bought it if it was made in the US.

Most peaceful, anti-war President or something btw. Great timing to do something like this while they're actively gouging the eyes out of their own intelligence community, and alienating allies.
