I have yet to get any, any, sense the PP is willing to spend the right amount, whatever that amount may be, on our defense capabilities. He hasn't even gone on record as agreeing to Canada meeting the 2% requirement. What? No. Questions of privilege are settled in parliament.
Some will fold completely if they have not received royal ascent. So what? Canadians want a new government NOW!
Yes it does. Seriously, have you not followed politics ever?
WE need a PM (like Pierre, just admit it already) who will actually do what is needed on security and defence (hell, even the Liberals are admitting it needs doing but they act like its suddenly news). As far as a trade war? Canada has resources the US needs. We square away our borders, defence and get a prime minister who stops insulting Trump at every turn, they can stand firm, fight for Canadian trade and gain respect. Why should Trump respect Trudeau? Trudeau and his clown buffonery has lost respect from global leaders as it is. And Trudeau deserves it.
Serious question, not meant to insult you, are you not paying attention to what is going on here?

Yes, they still generally act rationally based on the political circumstances. And since you’re talking about people who presumably have the sense to want to get out from under his leadership, there’s no reason to think that rationality is abandoned.Does anything with the Trudeau brand of Liberals make sense? 40 Billion dollars is our gaurd rail (Trudeau knew it) and they blew past it by 20 billion. I could go on and on, but you know these scandals by now.
Many of these Liberals know they are toast, no matter what. If they turn against Trudeau as Francis Drouin did publicly today, they set themselves up in the future as "I should be Liberal leader because I stood up against Trudeau back in '24...."
He won't. He demanded the stupid party rule change when he became their leader in 2013. Now they are reaping what they sow.
He knows that you don’t throw good, borrowed money into a black hole. Someone needs to give him a pragmatic defence plan that is costed. Where is that?I have yet to get any, any, sense the PP is willing to spend the right amount, whatever that amount may be, on our defense capabilities. He hasn't even gone on record as agreeing to Canada meeting the 2% requirement.
Whether its Trudeau or PP as PM, spending 2% GDP on Defence will not be an option. I think Trump can really turn up the heat on Canada WAY beyond 25% tarifs if he needs to. It could get really ugly. And Trump won't break a sweat.I have yet to get any, any, sense the PP is willing to spend the right amount, whatever that amount may be, on our defense capabilities. He hasn't even gone on record as agreeing to Canada meeting the 2% requirement.

Almost all know they will never be leader or even more than backbenchers, so that won’t be part of their math. Many also know that they aren’t “toast, no matter what”, and that some of the seats can and will swing back under the right, achievable circumstances. Not that it will save the current government, but it could save their seats.
Relatively few truly have ‘nothing to lose’, and fewer still have anything to gain, by collapsing confidence.
He likely cares about what he sees as his legacy though. How the party lets him go out could matter for that. They could still allow his exit to be dressed up in some way favourable to his own self-conception and image. Let him sunset through to the election, announce his retirement, potentially head the government through G7 if he doesn’t step down entirely and they name an interim, and - critically - eat the election loss as the last permanent leader leading up to it. Some reversion to the mean happens, CPC still win, but LPC preserve more seats and don’t risk getting knocked down to third place.
One way or another he should step down. Pick an intermediate leader and try to run the gvt or force a vote. Either has issues but JT at least is removed from the equation. This is a near crisis situation - someone had better step up and take the reins - I can see a vote of non confidence in the near future
I will be very surprised if this Parliament survives to Friday. There's a lot at play now that wasn't last week...This is a near crisis situation - someone had better step up and take the reins - I can see a vote of non confidence in the near future

You’re living in a dreamland.
They are going to gut him when they know he is truly done and gone.
They will do their utmost to disown him and erase his ‘legacy’ much like they did with Dion and Iggy.
I say good riddance to the bugger and good luck in finding meaningful employment.
Hope he enjoys it while it lasts ...I think he’s only the 2nd French-Canadian to ever be FM.
