Reserves, summer training and year-on training

When I visited my local reserve artillery regiment for a information session I was told that reservists could do their BMQ in 2 ways, during the summer (at St-Hubert most likely for 4 weeks straight on) or throughout the year (1 weekend per month I believe). Considering I want to follow the latter format, how do I choose between the 2? Is it by the date of my application, by ticking something in the application form (I didn't see any) or something else??

You simply let them know at your unit when asked.

Alright, and do you somewhat know by which date should I hand in my application for it not to be late for next years (Fall 2013) training?

If I'm not mistaken, the hiring dates differ from unit to unit, so your best bet is to call them and ask what dates are optimal for applying for next year's courses.
