Reserves as a FF

I am interested in pursuing a career in firefighting.  The only training I have related to it would be an EMR course ive done.  I am still working on getting onto a civi dept but I am jut wondering if it wouldnt be a bad idea to apply for the reserves as a firefighter and get some training and then apply to where I want.  Is that at all possible?  What are some things I need to know?  im 24 and in immaculate shape, been working on my fitness for 3 years

I didn't know Firefighter was a trade open to reservists....

If it is, then it's probably like most AF reserve trades whereby you already have to have the Reg F qual in order to transfer to the Res F.
