My credit is not as good as it could be I was wondering if that could stop my application.

It can depending on the circumstances. Best bet is to call the Recruiting Centre, explain your situation and get an answer right from them.

This has already been addressed on a number of occasions. Do a search please, and review the site guidelines while your at it.
