Questions on use of personal defence weapons in the feild or on tour?

Hello, I have just two question which pertains to the use of personal defence weapons in the feild or on tour. I was wondering what are you aloud to use as personal defence weapons ie knives or other such weapons that are not issued? And are there any particular orders in the QR&O or other such regulations and if there is do u know the web site where I can get these regulations?
