Initiatives launched to retain and increase RCAF personnel experience levels

When I was doing Test Pilot training, an A380 on its production test flight.
Very cool! I just got to bounce one of NTPS’ Merlin IIIs around in my OT&E course…what a shit plane it is…has a divergent pitch moment on rotation…no clue how it got certified by FAA.

The 380 would be a fantastic experience, Max!

Lets see how many people switch over to a simpler trade. With the pay rate differences not that much between base - spec 1, this would be a great option for far less responsibility with similar pay and same benefits.

It seems odd to try and grab from under strength trades for this. I wonder if we’ll see the RCAF / Recruiting following the American X contract model where you get assigned after washing out.

I had to read it a few times but the para about the other Tech trades (AVN, etc) refers to another type of transfer plan.

So this CANFORGEN is for the folks other than those 5 Tech trades.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh pardon my mistake

Will be interesting to see how many positions get assigned to each fleet or unit. I’m sure all my answers are in the DWAN SharePoint..

There was a message offering a COT for those five trades if they were already qualified, allowing people to switch over at their current rank/pay.

As to @Quirky's point about easier job for more money. Remember that you transfer at your current pay, so you won't see a pay raise until your new rank surpasses your current pay. Might be fun to be a MCpl making more than your Sgt, until you're a Sgt that hasn't had a pay raise to go with the new responsibilities.

I didn’t refer that, I said the pay differences between base and spec 1 aren’t significant enough to justify the extra AVN/AVS/ACS airworthiness responsibilities.

Lots of non-spec jobs have responsibilities that tie into airworthiness as well. Spec pay was only ever supposed to be a bit extra, not a massive difference, hence the different raises to bring it back in line with what it was intended to be.

Hmm...

I addressed the point, just from a different perspective.
