A step in the right direction?? With their budget woes & annual list of complaints, I feel like this skyrockets them to…somewhere

60 Chinooks is an amazingly formidable airlift capability on the battlefield! But that’s also going to cost a lot of maintenance $$…maintenance $$ they don’t seem to have or use given their current state…

But agreed. It’s a solid start on turning things around if they stay on top of things!

It seems that everyone, Canada included, thought that ugly thing we call "war" was dead and buried once the Berlin Wall fell. Much like the UK and France in 1919.

It ties in with the "End of History" thing by Francis Fukuyama. He (and many others) thought that the Wall falling and the end of the USSR meant that liberal democracies "won" and it's all good from there on in.
