Funny. When you click on the embedded link you can find this though…
Yeah, Haaretz live feed link wasn't probably the best to share. Haaretz keeps adding news to the live feed news page and that specific news piece got buried. Plus Haaretz has a paywall.
Anyways, I never make up news, so here it is from the Times Of Israel.

And yeah, a few hours after that news broke, they also indicated that Hamas will be on the list. Which i don't think is surprising.

As for the annual list/report, it hasn't been released yet. The UN apparently informs the countries they're adding ahead of the release.

Here's the UN link for last year's report (scroll to the end to see the list). Last year they added Russia:

But come on guys, if someone takes the jackpot with killing children, it's obviously Israel. The IDF killed more children in Gaza than all global conflicts combined in all the last 4 years together!

From that report, funny how many countries with over a 1,000 violations are Islamic

8. The denial of humanitarian access 3
remained very high, with 3,931 verified
incidents. The situation is expected to worsen with the adoption of restrictive laws,
decrees and regulations increasing control over humanitarian work and workers,
notably in Afghanistan, Myanmar and parts of Yemen. Verified incidents of
recruitment and use increased by 21 per cent, abductions by 15 per cent and killing
and by maiming 5 per cent. The use of live ammunition against children and the
excessive use of force increased, in particular in Israel and the State of Palestine and Myanmar

For the purposes of the present report, the present section provides information on graveviolations in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, the Gaza Strip and Israel.6 Of which 563 were caused by tear gas inhalation.

Oh where is the outrage

Somalia151. The United Nations verified 2,783 grave violations against 2,282 children(1,810 boys, 472 girls), including 431 children who were victims of multipleviolations. In addition, five violations that had occurred in 2021 were verified in 2022.
Myanmar137. The United Nations verified 1,226 grave violations against 939 children (601boys, 225 girls, 113 sex unknown). In addition, 39 violations against 39 children thathad occurred in previous years were verified in 2022.
Mali123. The United Nations verified 1,024 grave violations against 757 children (606boys, 137 girls, 14 sex unknown), including 88 children who were victims of multiple violations.
Syrian Arab Republic191. The United Nations verified 2,438 grave violations against 2,407 children(2,059 boys, 312 girls, 36 sex unknown), including 7 children who were victims of multiple violations. In addition, 10 grave violations against 10 children (9 boys,1 girl) that had occurred in previous years were verified in 2022.
Yemen206. The United Nations verified 1,596 grave violations against 637 children (522boys, 115 girls), including 26 children who were victims of multiple violations. Inaddition, 245 grave violations against 212 children that had occurred in previous years(185 boys, 27 girls) were verified in 2022.
Burkina Faso221. The United Nations verified 1,202 grave violations against 863 children (546boys, 298 girls, 19 sex unknown), including 85 children who were victims of multipleviolations. In addition, 366 grave violations against 294 children (54 boys, 104 girls,136 sex unknown) that had occurred in previous years were verified in 2022.
Ukraine311. The United Nations verified 2,334 violations against 1,482 children (629 boys,474 girls, 379 sex unknown), including 91 children who were victims of multipleviolations. The information does not represent the full scale of violations againstchildren, as verification depends on many factors, including access.

Not from the report, but the UN defines a "child" as: For the purposes of the present Convention, a child means every human being below the age of eighteen years unless under the law applicable to the child, majority is attained earlier.

Ah yes, "won't someone think of the children?!".

Make sure you do everything you can to avoid placing any blame on Hamas for attacking Israel on October 7th, or Palestinians for supporting them for the last 16 years, including increasing support after October 7th.

You don't have enough credibility here to just dump an assertion like that. You'll have to specify which conflicts data are drawn from, and what the body counts are.

It looks like this "statistic" is from a Save the Children report repeated in this CBC article:

The stats used are from Gaza's Health Ministry (of the HAMAS government btw) stating that 3,495 children have been killed by the IDF. The article goes on to state:
By comparison, 2,985 children were killed in armed conflicts around the world in 2022, 2,515 in 2021, 2,674 in 2020 and 4,019 in 2019, according to annual reports by the United Nations secretary-general on children and armed conflict.
However, the Statistica website shows very different stats on children killed in conflicts by year:
  • 2022 - 8,647
  • 2021 - 8,113
  • 2020 - 8,432
  • 2018 - 12,125
  • 2017 - 10,677
  • 2016 - 10,068
  • 2014 - 12,393

Finally, a brains guy who's actually willing to do the research. I actually applaud your effort and I believe this is the way for a rational debate that @PuckChaser reminded us of.

The claim that I made is based on multiple outlets and sources:

CNN, back in November (only 1 month into the war!) published the following chart showing that "More children killed in Gaza in one month than in any other conflict annually since 2019". Global deaths were based on UN Annual Reports.
The link is below the image:

Then in March, the UN declared that the "number of children reported killed in just over 4 months in is higher than the number of children killed in 4 years of wars around the world combined." and shared this image (link below).
The global death figures are according to annual reports by the UN secretary-general on children and armed conflict (links to these reports are actually in the CBC article that you shared):

Now, here's the caveat with your reference to the Statistica source. I believe you misread the title of it and that's why you thought it shows very different (and much higher) stats on children killed in conflicts by year. The title of your Statistica reference is "Children killed and maimed in conflicts worldwide". So these figures include injured children on top of killed and that's why they were higher.

So after backing this up with sources (not a "trust me bro" as some suggested), can we show some humanity? Did we really need to show that it's 4 combined years' worth of dead children vs 3 years, 2 year or whatever? This mass killing must stop and Canada should apply a lot more pressure on Israel to do so (economic, political boycot..etc)

The Ministry of Health in Gaza??

Seriously, you're not that stupid. I know you have emotional stock in this, but come on, even you know it's Hamas's propaganda tool.

I'll bet I could find a group in Israel, give them a fancy name, and have them put out that "no children have died in Gaza".

Would I post it as fact,? Not a chance....

Yes, it has to be shown. And until it's clear whether the figures are only counting deaths due to fighting or properly include deaths due to conflict-related causes (eg. famine, disease, lack of medical care), what has to be shown hasn't been shown.

Israel could stop this right now by ceasing all operations. Hamas could stop this right now by surrendering and meeting all Israeli demands.

This mass killing must stop

You’re right. Hamas needs to surrender and not another innocent soul in gaza will die under the IDF.

Without the surrender of hamas, IDF needs to continue exactly what they’re doing. Canadas pressure and the mentally insane in university campuses are both irrelevant.

Thanks for proving the point of Collective Punishment (ie. if Hamas doesn't surrender then the IDF is to continue mass killing and beheading Palestinian children).
Ah well, it's Quirky!

It's said best in Serenity.

"If your quarry goes to ground, leave no ground to go to".

Your people are harbouring terrorists, rapists, and child murderers. We're not talking dead kids from a bomb, we're talking up close and murdering children infront of their parents while its live streamed on Facebook.

Actions have consequences. It's time your people put their victim cards down and take ownership of the terrorist organization they've supported for 16 years. Your people are violent.

The Israelis are also violent, if anything purposely more so. It is part of their whole strategy, make it very costly to fight/attack them so as to discourage it.
