Exactly why it wouldn't happen, the liberals are not giving up their strongholds.

They still used a democratic process to do it. Passed a law that made it optional.

Experts are split on if they can or not. Someone can make a challenge.

Not according to the law they passed, they passed it so they could.

Again debatable. They did follow a process. I am guessing it will be challenged at some point.

Again, it was passed as a law. The law does not bind everyone only Quebec who chose to make the oath optional. One side says they can’t do it without approval of other provinces and the other side says it can as far as its provincial jurisdiction is concerned.

Time will tell if that law will stand or not.
it will stand because there isn't a federal politician in Ottawa that is willing to tell them otherwise and the courts won't act until someone of standing makes a case of it and that won't happen either

Bit of a buried lede here- PMJT met directly with the chief of Toronto Police yesterday.

Demkiw and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met on Wednesday to discuss the recent and "alarming" increase in antisemitic incidents and what more can be done to keep Jewish Canadians safe. The meeting came after two Toronto councillors asked the federal government for help fighting antisemitism in Toronto.

Would that constitute political interference in operational policing?

Asking for a friend. ;)

Looks like what many suspected is confirmed. Many “pro-Palestinian” demonstrators are being paid.

This is my shocked face

Within that article we find this:

In the article, Greenhough detailed how she had publicly planned to personally stand in the way of an anti-Israel car rally planned for Dec. 31 — leading to a call from a Victoria police constable warning her that it was illegal to block a roadway.

“When I pointed out that over the past months Victoria roadways were blocked on a weekly basis, she replied, ‘We can’t arrest 500 people,’” wrote Greenhough.

Soft targets and hard targets. Apparently 500 is too hard for Victoria. And those people are likely to be well practiced in the arts of protesting in Victoria and Vancouver. It's a living.

And, IIRC, the Fairy Creek protestors were fueled by CERB payments...
