Maybe this has been covered already and if so please direct me in the right direction.    :)

I am a Reservist with the Calgary Highlanders and its not working out for me, training fulltime in the Reg. Force is the best way for me to:
a) do what I love.
b) take care of my family.

I know some of you will go back to my old posts and see that I've already been to St.Jean and all that. And I'm more then happy to help you fill in the blanks so you can better help me, so back to the point. My question is this, once I hand in my memo up my CoC what happens then? and will I have to drop out of the CF and re-enlist or how does it work??

What you're looking to do is a Component Transfer or CT. You do not need to inform your CoC, the process is run out of NDHQ to streamline everything. Take a look at this thread: http://forums.army.ca/forums/threads/70341.0.html, it will outline what you need to do and give you some general ideas of timelines.

The thing is that new form is for MOC qualified...I havent finished BMQ yet, I had to come back from St.Jean to look after my wife. When that happened I was officialy discharged on May 28 of last year. I am still awaiting a course for BMQ...so thats why I'm wondering if I can just do a transfer right off the bat to Reg. so I can do my BMQ again.

Just to clarify cause I got a little confused from reading...the initial note read that it is for members who are MOC qualified...I am with the PRes and what to CT. Infantry to Infantry....thing is I dont have my BMQ under my belt. Does this pose a problem???
or am I just the odd man out who cant understand government lingo?

thanks in advance for your help :)

Did you look at the form yet?

Seems pretty straight forward.

wow...I cant believe I missed that the first time through....I feel special now. :crybaby:

thank you very much though.

If you were officially discharged then you have to re-enroll.... talk to the recruiting centre and let them know you already have a file.

So I gotta go through the whole process again even though I'm already with the Highlanders??
hmm...I will take your advice and go to the recruiting centre tomorrow morning to clarify this.

OK, you were Reg Force on BMQ at CFLRS, for personal reasons, you were honourably released, and then joined the Calgary Highlanders.

1.  Are you sworn in yet?  If you aren't sworn in yet you aren't a member of the CF Primary Reserve, and can't do a Component Transfer.

2.  Do you have whatever it was that caused you to release sorted out yet?  If not, is there much point in returning to CFLRS?

3.  If you are a member of the PRes and apply for a CT, you should follow the same CT process as any other mbr of the P Res AFAIK.

Good luck.

On looking at all the information provided, I am not sure whether this is a CT or not.  You haven't qualified BMQ yet, so you are a Recruit.  That means you are NOT MOC QUALIFIED.  I am sure that what you are facing is a Release from the Reserves in order to Re-enrol in the Regular Force and go back to start St Jean all over again.  You may have to see the CFRC and have that all confirmed.

1. Yes, I am sworn in and am a recruit for the PRes.
2. I have everything sorted out.
3. I will call the CFRC right now and ask them, and if they cant help me over the phone I will go down there today.
