Former Canadian Pilots Training PLAAF

Don’t confuse illegal acts with unlawful acts. Breach of confidential information is also a civil tort, for example.

I wonder how the pilot training school in Red Deer did when the rumors came out they may be training Chinese military pilots. Not the commercial pilots they were told.

We've been feeding the Chinese for years. I distinctly remember doing Phase Training in Gagetown NB in the mid 2000s and the Fredericton flying school was filled with Chinese pilots to be.

A lot of people made a lot of money and it was all fun and games when we were getting cheap electronics and Adidas shoes but now that China is a peer 🫠

Is this direction from higher or this is just you? I guess you probably won’t have to cross this bridge since they don’t want to visit and don’t have any official business to enter a restricted area so easy to refuse. Curious if you have sought concurrence on this policy from HHQ/ADM(Pol)/ADM(PA)/LEGAD etc? Cause it seems too succinct…
I have not and I have full authority on visits in a hangar where we store sensitive equipment. I don’t have to ask permission to deny them entry (or anyone else).

Have a look in the mirror.
My entire contribution in this thread, thus far, had been to correct you on a not very small matter that Canada does indeed have a law that governs what CAF members can share post service about the things that they learned in service.

And then to call you a prick, because that is what you are acting like.

Why the name calling? How have I acted like a prick? What have I said the deeply offended your sensibilities?

You're just looking for a drive-by confrontation.

It is not illegal for a Canadian to work in China, which is the only thing that we know the individuals in question have done. If we don't want Canadian Air Force pilots working in China, teaching Chinese Air Force pilots, pass legislation to make it happen.

You're making an assumption they broke a law which we have no evidence that they have. The burden on proof is on those making an accusation to provide evidence supporting their argument.

I'm surprised I have to explain the context of this to you.

There is a large smear campaign that has commenced against these individuals:

Anonymous accounts created, pushing narratives, etc. I suspect there are motives for this campaign that we are unaware of.

Yep. It is always some deep state conspiracy with you. “The man” sticking it to the little guy…

Not illegal for former CAF members to work in China? Well that depends entirely on the context. And since you brought it up, the particular context that these former RCAF members are/were working in China certainly should raise eyebrows and get a deeper look by the Canadian Security Establishment. Notice that, again, I have not made an assertion about guilt or innocence. Unlike you.

You are the one who has decided/doubled down, repeatedly, that there is no issue here and these folks are innocent and can do whatever they want, with whomever they post CAF service. I am reminding everyone that, if you read the fine print, that is not the case. Many of us are bound, for life, on what we can/cannot do.

I get that you hate the CAF and think everyone still serving is a sucker. I am sorry that you had a shitty go. But, for some of us service is still a calling and the words duty and honour still have meaning.

What I do believe is that these people are entitled to due process. They are currently having their names dragged through the mud without that due process. If we believed everything at face value that the establishment and the Govt told us.... people like Mark Norman would be in jail right now.

This is a classic case of "March out the guilty bastards" and has all the hallmarks of a smear campaign for some alterior motive. It's called politics and politicians do greasy shit all the time for their own purposes.

That's a pretty big assumption. I do not hate the CAF, what you view as hate is just a difference of opinion regarding how the organization should operate and govern itself. I had been quite unhappy with how things had been going prior to leaving for a number of years..... for a variety of reasons. I am not alone in that regard.

I am a very patriotic person and if there were a bona-fide national crisis that required me to step back in the dugout, I would do so without question.

I'm sure Nacho is crying all the way to the bank.

Is this Nacho guy a well known figure in the RCAF ?
A number of them are well known.

I am certain many people here know some of them as well. If they broke the law, they most certainly deserve what they get. They should be entitled to due process though.

Too many CAF members are quick to jump in with pitchforks with basically no information. It's a reaction that the institution breeds in to people to protect itself.

I thought he was a Mexican wrestler. I stand corrected.

The facts are pretty clear. These former CAF members have taken their skillsets and sold them to a company that is training one of our current adversary's pilots. We aren't talking about civilian training that could have dual use purposes. They are being trained to operate military jets against opposing forces. These PLA pilots are currently endangering former classmates and peers of these Ex CAF members. The incidents are available in plenty of open source materials.

So yeah, bring out the pitchforks. They're no better than anyone who left to fight/train/comfort with ISIS. The only difference is their God is the almighty dollar rather than Allah.
