FELEX - Halifax Class Modernisation

The other place that might be the same is on the CMS side. CTI might be a recycle of the UWSU interfaces for ASW.
Ugh. So that means that the ops room would have Aegis consoles, CTI consoles, and UWSU consoles. No thanks.

CTI consoles will be UWWconsoles. I looked at the console replacement and the only bespoke console is the towed array one but that's expected as it's a very particular configuration for a reason. Everything else is the same as normal CMS (aka CTI). CTI really is code for "underwater sensors and things that the US won't integrate for us". And that gets less and less as the CSC project keeps switching to US tech that is already part of the Aegis library.

What's not going to be controlled from an Aegis console?

It was originally going to be EW and UWW. But as you can see the EW stuff is slowly becoming more US (ZEUS into SEWIP Block 2, RAVEN into Nukla and SPQ 32) because less risk and cost. SRD 506, likely the Lionfish 30mm, laser defense and detection, full UWW suite, all UXV's, and a few other things are CTI or stand alone consoles.

I do not know if CTI also does the ORO (TAO?) position interface but suspect that it probably does (as it combines the whole picture). I also don't know if CTI is the overlay for all the Aegis stuff as well.

I'm not in the project, I just talk to people and make suppositions from OS. I suspect that all of this is a moving target and changes as design or integration challenges come up. I'm not a fan of losing CMS sovereignty as we don't get to change the software based on Canadian needs, we just get dictated to by the US for that, but from an engineering perspective if its already integrated with Aegis then its much lower cost and risk (hence the move from CAMM to RAM in the CIAD category as a big example).
