Christmas Rant

My individual axe to grind concerns the advertisers that use Christmas carols or hymns to promote their products.  You know what I'm talking about, the companies that turn "Jingle Bells" into:

"Buy our stuff,
buy our stuff,
we are really cheap...

Ad nauseum...

So far, the most egregious example I have found this year is Kudoo Mobile's.

They managed to take the words from Silent Night: "...Holy Infant so tender and mild,"

and turn them into:

"...and please don't eat the yellow snow"

Is it just me?  Is there no limit?

Meh.......i dont have the desire to get wrapped up around small stuff like that. Come to think of it, it doesnt bother me one bit.

Sorry, but abuse of music hit rock bottom for me years ago, when they started using Led Zeppelin tunes to sell Cadillacs.  The ad turds could reach no further depths of depravity.

Did you hear that other commercial of their's on the radio?

The one that ends:

"It got whacked...
"...Don't let the door hit you on the way out..."

Oh well....goes with the season. ::)

I have to respectfully disagree. I get a kick out of the Christmas jingles. The radio commercials that get under my skin are all of the Ikea ads. I love the store but I'd gladly ring that fella's neck.  >:D
