Hi guys,

I really want to join the regular forces this year.  I just applied on the website and I'll send official papers through mail tommorow.  I was just wondering, I have a few medical issues.  Can I still get in the regular forces with those :

-Very small allergies
-Flat foot.  (with my orthotics my feet come back to normal, and they fit in every boot or shoe)
-Myopia (I plan to correct it in the first year of service)

Thanks for taking time to read this

Also, I was wondering if Basic Training was paid, and how much?

You might want to check out the following webpage for medical issues:

CF Medical Standards
http://www.forces.gc.ca/health-sante/pd/cfp-pfc-154/default-eng.asp

I only looked at the section regarding visual acuity, unfortunately, I have bad eyes (-10, -9) and fall under V5. I'll be doing PRK eye surgery next year to become eligible for enrolment. A recruiter mentioned that pilots can only get PRK eye surgery, anything else will disqualify them. Depending on what your prescription is, you may not get a chance to get your eyes fixed in the first year if they won't even hire you for the trades you are interested in.

This page explains the grading for visual acuity:
http://www.forces.gc.ca/health-sante/pd/cfp-pfc-154/AN-A-eng.asp

This page tells you what is the minimum grade for each occupation:
http://www.forces.gc.ca/health-sante/pd/CFP-PFC-154/AN-E-eng.asp

Good luck!

Yes.

But your medical conditions may limit which trade you can apply for.
Talk with your local recruiting centre first.

You do get paid during BMQ, the pay scales are on the recruiting site.

P.S. Since the CF values imitative, show some to your potential bosses roaming here by using the search function. Both your questions have been asked and answered before.

I just noticed this is "Recruits Only".

Post removed. My apologies.
