"You can always make up extra infantry by bringing in new units and so on but if you have medical services, dental services, it is difficult to make up numbers quickly," he told PM.
"So I think there is a degree of prudence here that these particularly technical areas should not be hostage to political fortune by having too many foreign people serving in them."
Logical enough reasoning, but unfortunate for any Canadians who may want to serve. At least for now it's only in support trades
