This from MERX:
.... The Department of National Defence (DND) is seeking price and availability information from industry in support of the upcoming Army Heavy Equipment Replacement (AHER) project …

This from one of the bid documents (28 pages via Google Docs)
... The Army Heavy Equipment Replacement (AHER) project intends to improve the Canadian Forces (CF) mobility, counter-mobility and force protection capabilities by recapitalizing and modernizing the existing fleets of engineer equipment.  2.3. The intention of the project is to acquire new equipment for Regular and Reserve Force Engineer units as well as the Canadian Forces School of Mechanical Engineering (CFSME), over the next few years ....

Initial estimated timelines in attached chart.

as well as the Canadian Forces School of Mechanical Engineering (CFSME)
Well, if the HQ one level up cannot tell them appart, I suppose I should not be surprised that the national level HQ seems to have trouble differentiating the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering (CFSME) and the Canadian Forces School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (CFSEME).  Hopefully (if the contractor will the belivering direct to user bases) the solicitation documentation at least correctly identifies the school's location as being in Gagetown and not Borden.

Already drafting a "correction" and hopefully will have PWGSC reissue an ammended LOI. Have the HE section going over the requirements and will see what else they screwed up.

Bidders have a bit more time - until September 11, 2012 according to the latest update (attached).

A bit more clarification re:  specs and "how air transportable is air transportable?" in latest bid document amendment here.

Interesting read....good questions...

Well i know the one who has done all the work on this and the one that took over from him and at least we should get the right eqpt as long as the pers with the degree stay out of it and since none are qualified on eqpt they should just say yes MWO you are right and we will go with what you say.  The MPEV the MSVS Eng variant have been F'd up by pers with the degree having a say in them.
