I just submitted my application and am awaiting my testing dates...

I was just curious on how long it could take to receive the dates... i submitted them last monday..

i have my full grade 10 and and fit do to everything but the running.. im working on that though, ive wanted this more than anything hell I even quit smoking..
and im running everywhere i go...

but back to the question can anyone ballpark how long it COULD take for me to get my dates.

Not sure what service you are applying for, the Regs, or the Reserves.  If it is the Reserves, it just depends on how much they are in need of people at the moment.  The Regular Force, it is almost impossible to give you an answer.  Some have their job offer in 2 weeks from application date to job offer.  Others wait for months to even a couple of years.  There is also the question on where you reside in relation to a Recruiting center, as the closer, you live it seems the shorter time it takes.  Give them a week or two to look over your application, and if you haven't heard back, give them a call.  I applied back in the beginning of March, and have not done any testing yet, but I am also 10 hours from the nearest center, and have previous service that they have to find files for.  If you are not in school, I strongly suggest you get your GED at least.  The military is still a competitive employer, and will pick the person with education credentials above one who doesn't.

Finally, congrats on the quitting smoking, I haven't gone that far yet, lol.  And keep working on the running.  I am sure a Mod will be by soon to welcome you to the forum and provide you with a bunch of rules to read, and an introduction to the search function.

the closest testing center is in tornoto about a 40 minit drive away from me,

thanks for replying so fast, im applying for the regular for infantry btw.

the closest application center is in oshawa about a 15 minit bus ride away.

thanks for the welcome.

and while im here if i pass everything in my physical test except the running is that still a fail?

It shouldn't take that long for you to get in and do the testing then.  I would really encourage you to finish school, or at least a GED (the test can be challenged).  You may have reasons we are unaware of for not continuing education to complete grade 12, but generally today, regardless of the minimum standards, they want their soldiers to have graduated.  Now I am not saying you have no chance of getting in, just my 2 cents, education is viewed as very important.

P.S.  Please use proper sentence structure, like punctuation, and capitalization, and spell check is available for all posts.

sorry about the punctuation,  yeah I understand they want full highschool graduates, im thinking that may be a reason they wont call back for a while if thats the case then I will go back to school and finish it off. im willing to do almost everything out there to get in.
For my reasons of not finishing highschool its because im not that great in school academically but when I really get down to it I can pull out 90's no problem,
I am fully willing to sign my life away for a career in the military and if it requires me going that extra mile i will do it ive already gone a few.. thanks again for the fast replies.

They will probably still get a hold of you.  I was great academically, but hated going to school, lol, so I know how you feel somewhat.  There might be others on later that have joined without finishing high school that may be able to help you out a bit more.  If all goes well with you, we might be on the same BMQ, hard to say.

that would be pretty wicked getting in on the same bmq with any one who ive had previous contact with, I know for a fact that bmq is alot easier with a buddy to help motivate you in your down times.

are you going for infantry?

Im hoping to get princess pats 3 bat. or mabye some where in ontairo.

To summarize. Welcome to Army.ca, start reading.

Hope that helps.

Yes I am planning on going infantry.  I have thought a lot about what regiment I would like to be part of, but truthfully, I don't have a clue.  I would like to get out of western Canada, and spend some time in the east, and at the same time the "cowboy" attitude of the PPCLI seems great as well.  I would prefer going light infantry, but it doesn't really matter.  Where ever they happen to send me is just as good.  I never listed any other preferences, just infantry, but if they offer me something else, I may jump at it, provided it is something I may have an interest in.

sounds good, I want PPCLI because I hear they see action more than the rest to put it bluntly.

The tours usually go by rotation so nobody really sees more "action" than anyone else. As for light infantry there really isn't one anymore. I know at 3 RCR were going mech slowly and keeping one company light, so i figure that's what 3 PPCLI are doing as well

I applied on April 24 for Infantry, NCM.  I had a call on April 27 with my test dates and interview for May 16.  You might want to check out Anyone Else's Enrollment Going So Fast?  its under The Recuiting Process to see other processing times.

Good luck hope it goes fast for you.

I ment to say Application Process Samples under The Recruiting Process lol.

toofast, the reason why yours probably went so quick is because you want infantry(if thats your first choice) since infantry is always in high demand
