Hahaha! That campaign is almost twice as old as me!

I'm surprised they had something like that in the 70s.. just imagine what the people that thought we needed one back then are saying now... whoever didn't listen sure looks stupid.

During an A-EMCA exam (paramedic licensing exam) review course I was sitting in at yesterday, the instructor showed a statistic that says by 2013, diabetes will surpass AIDS as the biggest epidemic in North America.

I am unable to find/remember the exact source now, but a simple google search brings up several pages that concur with those findings just not specific to NA.

I'm not at all surprised.  I rarely see HIV+ or active AIDS patients, but I would estimate that 80% of my patients have diabetic complications, the vast majority of whom are NIDDM.
