2025 Federal Election - 28 Apr 25

Kettle this is pot, FYI I been around a few years and the biggest liars I have ever seen is the current Liberal Party of Canada - which is not for Canada no matter what they say. The "natural governing party of Canada" is not what it was in the 60s.
I was addressing a very specific line of attack by the CPC, nothing more. No need to resort to whataboutism.

Interesting graphic in the latest Angus Reid info-machine content ...
Basically, what people think is more important is on the right, less important on the left. Red & Blue spots speak to which coach people think can manage the issues better.

I'm kinda intrigued to see so many people seeing Team Red best poised to deal with cost of living/inflation - here's a top three breakdown by party:

Also interesting to see self-identified Blue players (as an aggregate group) don't put tariffs in their top five.

Alt link if original one doesn't work for you.

Seems like Canadians have a massive disconnect with reality on the linkages amongst the items on the X axis.

Also massive disconnects between root causes and effects.

No idea what’s in and what’s out, and some may be obvious horse hockey. That said, I know I may not be able to tell what’s being worked on now will lead to. After all, if someone threw out a certain mouldy Petri dish way back when, we may have missed out on penicillin.
I mean yes thats true, we discovered that by accident. Potentially we may have given out 25x $1m contracts to 1-person companies each studying the cure for cancer, or, how a specific colour makes someone feel when drinking coffee.

The problem is lack of tax payer oversight.
"Trust us" shouldnt cut it with any government, especially the current Liberal government.

When discussing Canadian energy projects, one thing to keep in mind is here is a list of already approved, shovel ready projects industry hasn't broken ground on. We can claim all we want the liberal gov is anti-energy but here we have 35 approved projects to "unleash canadian energy"

I looked up an even dozen of those projects. Most are expansion efforts on existing fields. Not one I looked at adds any delivery capacity: as in no pipelines. And Carney has clearly stated that he has no intention of changing the act so companies can drill all they want but they will not get through all the hoops to enable delivery. Carney is 100% in favour of 0 by 2050

I remember growing up, my parents used to tell us it was rude to ask someone directly who they planned to vote for.

Mine too.

Now, "inquiring minds" ( like romantic interests ) can avoid that by snooping around ones social media. :)

Interesting that Angus-Reid chooses to put Carney up the positive Y axis, and Poilievre the negative Y axis, vice Carney left, Poilievre right X…and then importance to Canadians on the X instead of the up Y = more important.

A little angular rotation gives something that looks a bit less damning.

Some of the placements are interesting…and aren’t qualified at all…

The number of CAF and retired CAF members who oppose dictatorships and routinely visit Cuba is "interesting".

You mean like RCAF navigators…wearing their issue oxfords…on the beach? Same types that rumor has it, would hole themselves up in the hotel with a loaf of bread and jar of peanut butter, to make coin on TD per diem budget-minded members? 😉

No instead he stated if the provinces have completed their own assessment, that's good enough provincial projects by pass C69 entirely.

A bunch of you have been claiming that Carney. Is a terrible public speaker and that his popularity will decrease the more he opens his mouth. To me that implies that he is a BAD speaker. While I'm not convinced he's an "astute orator for the ages", I can't connect what you guys are saying with the few example I have seen of Carney talking, such as this one from tonight, to the press, without a teleprompter:

4th candidate drops

Conservatives drop fourth candidate in just two days over alleged social media activity

Soooo….maybe getting that security clearance right about now would be a good idea to see what is going on in his own party?

Glad to see them dropping their liabilities so quickly…

…but they need to work on their vetting processes. One would think that by 2025 parties would be able to vet candidates easier?
Or maybe they are trying to just stay ahead of things they know are coming.

Starting to think that there is a slow leak of info about compromised candidates. I mean the LPC has one that gets dropped then all of a sudden a flood gate of CPC ones that overshadow that one…

You mean the NDA that muzzles his criticism? The continued use of "security clearance" by people who should know what a read-in NDA for a special program is really just cheap partisan shots instead of fact based criticism. If there was actual evidence of candidates being influenced, he'd be read in for specific issues relevant to his party, which could be the case here.

I'd rather he continue to vet, find and remove candidates. It's better than ignoring the problem for 5 days and refusing to disclose conflicts of interests. Really shows the contrast between decisive action to counter foreign influence and waffling to court an ethnic vote.
