Wow Its really that hard to get a beard chit huh? I called the medical one in St jean and I couldn't get an appointment on my time since I have University as well. Just finished reserve infantry DP1, now what?-survival guide

Very informative thread. Hopefully no one in my section or unit with who I did my BMQ which is ending soon will quit on us during our DP1 or afterwards. As for me I'll just do my bachelor which I may be starting this fall, and if possible just work full time during the summer if it permits.

Wet Weather Combat Boots: Use, Maintenance & Other Stuff.

I had my gore tex cleans and I still got a warning for it. I'm putting kiwi shine on them either way now, plus those are too big for me to the point that it hampers my ability to run, so  if they frig up well I will be getting new shoes anyways. Hopefully brown ones ;D

    Anyone else suck at drill?

I was able to improve on my drills on my own during the week. Im doing my weekend BMQ for the reserves currently. But when it comes to present arms :( man I completely suck at it! I know I have to practice like I did for my about turn to become near perfect, but how the hell can I pratice it...

Pay Issues, split from Re: Just finished reserve infantry DP1, now what?-survival guide

Yikes then something must be wrong. Because my deposit is really low...its the first one I had. Should I call my unit or speak to the Corporal in charge of my section at my unit to sort this out? That may be it since I started my reserve training on the 16th, and had my 2nd RIC night this...

Pay Issues, split from Re: Just finished reserve infantry DP1, now what?-survival guide

I might as well ask my question here instead of making a new thread. My apologies if I am in the wrong. So my first real full work day was back in december for a christmas dinner, and I had 2 more RIC training nights and 2 weekends of reserve BMQ before today which is 6 days of BMQ. I just...

Physical Fitness (Jogging, Diet, Cardiovascular, and Strength )

Yeah got all that ready. Started recently. One thing I know for sure. IS that.... leg day. I'M NOT doing it for a longgggggggggggg time :) I mean when I do leg day i feel it for the next 2-3 days and well my mobility is really really bad lol,but with BMQ on the weekends I'd would have to do it...

What not to do - No excuse BMQ tips [Merged]

Just had my first weekend of reserve BMQ, and I gotta say is make sure you arrive there in tip top shape.I know I did. So when you get jacked up it won't faze you at all. Listen to the instructors and I think you should be alright. I'm looking forward to the rest of the upcoming weekends. All I...

Physical Fitness (Jogging, Diet, Cardiovascular, and Strength )

One last question for the BMQ when you are timed when it comes to the running test do they expect you to run in the sludgy snow? cuz I did like 2.65 km in 14:56 mins at 5:38 min/km at 1 or zero degree weather while last sunday I was able to do it in 13:06 min at 4:58 min/km and it between -10 or...

Obvious Terminology I should be aware of.

Yeah I just need a heads up. Got Sworn in a few weeks ago. I don't want to make any mistakes because I'm not aware of the terms. I know about ACK means Acknowledged when it comes to email. I learned the hard way that 0700 is really 7am and not 7pm when i came to my unit for my physical test and...

Physical Fitness (Jogging, Diet, Cardiovascular, and Strength )

So i was finally able to start it today. I did 2.65km in 14:27.  It was really my first time running outside in the snow and plus the ice  :o. I definitely need to step it up and do it 3 times per week for sure. The cold annoyed me even more than my breath tho I definitely need better...

Physical Fitness (Jogging, Diet, Cardiovascular, and Strength )

Welp so I guess this settles it. I'll use the gym 3 days a week now(push/pull/legs) and allocate the other 2 to running outside in my neighbourhood, and another day will be during my RIC Training since I think that they make us run outside as well? This would give me 3 running days per week. I...

Physical Fitness (Jogging, Diet, Cardiovascular, and Strength )

Yeah I'll probably do more running in the morning or at night then. Today I tried to do 2.4 KM(1.42 miles)  under 11:56 minutes and I was able to do it under 11 mins or so on the treadmill. I took like a 2 or 3 minute break by just lowering the speed down to a almost a walking speed and...

Physical Fitness (Jogging, Diet, Cardiovascular, and Strength )

So I got sworn in last week. I'm led to believe that I won't be getting in BMQ before January. But I wanted to know if I should change up my work out routine or still keep on doing it. This is what my routine consists of Monday: Push Tuesday: Pull Wednesday: Cardio Thursday: Legs Friday: Push...

Parking space at Your military Unit

Thanks for the answers. I guess I'll go there by car on my first day to see what's up. Since i'll be there from 7 to 10 PM I can always park it near a metro and just take the train/bus over there if parking is really difficult.

Parking space at Your military Unit

Yeah I was wondering is there any designated Parking spaces for members of the CF at their units? I have to report to mine( RMR Montreal) this tuesday for the first time, since i recently got sworn in for the reserves. If there is I'll just come by car if no i'll just come by bus.
