QM, which stands for Quartermaster, as far as I know, seems like it would be the person you go to for exchanging / getting kit, etc. But around my unit, it's used as if it's the place, not the person that you go to. Example: "..Over in the QM..." "Go to the QM" So which is it?

I'm a bit confused about the rank insignia for Generals. I thought it was the one thick bar, but then saw photos where it was the swords, crown and leaves. So now it is my understanding that my latter description is what is worn on the epaulette. So where is the big bar used? Anywhere? Thanks...

We have 2 new Officer Cadets in our unit, and I was wondering what are the proper things to do around them. Do they get called Sir? And they don't get saluted, right?

I had my BMQ Graduation Parade today, all went well. Thought I'd share some pictures.

After just getting back from 3 days of BMQ, I had my first experience of this. It was certainly interesting. Particularly executing an About Turn, then marking time. Has anybody else done this, and have stories to share?
