Hey all, I know this is a bit off topic but it is related to service dress, what is the appropriate state of dress for military members at a wedding? 1D (Ceremonial with ribbons/undress)?
No, but a lot of our current stock of uniforms is older than our troops. Teach a basic reserve side and you'll see a lot of exposed buttons on uniforms. Is there anything wrong with them? No. But do we need to keep recycling 20 year old clothes? Also no.
The higher ups also wanted to align...
We need uniforms. Our uniforms require modernization. It's money the CAF can spend without TBS and PSPC fucking the dog for ten years. We're getting boats, we're getting planes, throw the Army a bone after being good corporate citizens for a decade plus and let us get some uniforms and gucci...
Honestly there's nothing really there. I imagine patching the gigantic holes in the LAV6s is not worth the cost on what are getting to be some tired hulls.
The LAV seriously needs an FCS and observation upgrade. They're positively archaic by the standards of our allies. In my perfect world we replace most of the LAVs with CV90s anyways and give them to the MO but alas, that's neither here nor there.
Unmanned makes more sense than a two man crew, at least it's completely remote controlled at that point. To crew command, monitor comms, track the battle, gun, load and rectify stoppages (in an unmanned turret), the poor CC will be run ragged. It's like they want to treat it like an AMPV but...
A two man crew is silly though. Crew commanding through some shit is tough enough, but now you also have to man the gun too and remedy stoppages, reload, etc. There's a reason every modern Western AFV is a three man crew minimum. If these were APCs then maaaybe but with the 50mm gun they expect...
They aren't really taking trenches though. They're doing what's called a guard essentially. Pre established runups that are coordinated and timed from the hide. Think of it as moving from a section hide up to the trenches during a stand to.
No need to stand up for the AOPS, even us Army peasants know that they were super fucked off the line. I'd say poisoned water supply and floods are more than mere "defects".
An assault gun for light divs (ie Airmobile). There's little practical application here when used in heavy divs when there are already ample MBTs, maybe as armoured recce WWII style but that seems to have finally been killed with drone proliferation. Beyond that I cant see a use. In terms of...
Strategic airlift capabilities are vastly different now compared to the 1970s-1980s. The Globemaster III can carry over double it's predecessor (Starlifter). Nowadays maybe you could use the Leo 1 in an Airmobile bde. Maybe you can use a Sherman. Wouldn't be advisable though since they aren't...
They are on the cushioned landing craft. One tank max. The Booker would also be limited to one. Maybe two if the combat load is severely limited and the craft dimensions allow for it and that'd really be pushing it. I'd still rather have one real tank as opposed to one assault gun or two...
I'm certainly not an amphibious expert but I'd say no, simply because they aren't amphibious. If the USMC wants a second-wave light tank that lands after the marines then maybe it could be useful but I think they'd rather have real tanks from the Army land instead of tracked assault gun in those...
