WWI Battalions

I am trying to find out about the following CEF Battalions.
5th Battalion Western Cavalry and the 10th Battalion the Western
Canadians. How would I find out where these two battalions were engaged in action on a specific date. Is this possible to assertain?

Email me re the Tenth Battalion. I am in the Calgary Highlanders, who perpetuate that unit, and have a considerable amount of reference material - I can also put you in touch with the regimental museum, who has the War Diary and other documents related to the Tenth.
