Perhaps it‘s short for something else - like "Jeep" is a *******ization of "G.P." General Purpose, perhaps "No Duff" is a corruption of some abbreviation DF perhaps? No Direct Fire? DUF? Dummies Up Front?
I get the feeling we‘ll all be slapping our foreheads if and when the answer ever comes out. I never even thought about what PA could mean, and was a little flabbergasted when I discovered that it means "Put Away". Sometimes the most vexing questions have the simplest solutions.
