I'm curious to know what you find appealing about Biden?  I felt Tulsi Gabbard had the best chance to defeat Trump.

People really disliked Hillary Clinton.  I’m not sure it’s Biden’s appeal as opposed to at least he’s not Hillary.

People have cited his empathy as his biggest asset.
No one can say he isn’t experienced.
His family tragedies make him relatable and able to relate.

Those are some of the things I have heard.

I agree with those that think these two are expendable because they think they will lose. Biden May or may not have been the best choice but the team up makes them more formidable than some are willing g to give them credit.

Trump Praises Tulsi Gabbard for Not Voting to Impeach Him

What We Know About Tulsi Gabbard’s Base
https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/what-we-know-about-tulsi-gabbards-base/

So what do we know about Gabbard’s base? For one thing, it’s overwhelmingly male —according to The Economist’s polling with YouGov, her support among men is in the mid-single digits, while her support among women is practically nonexistent.

Her supporters, for instance, are more likely to have backed President Trump in 2016, hold conservative views or identify as Republican compared to voters backing the other candidates.

Steve Bannon dubbed her, "Queen of the incels".

“He loves Tulsi Gabbard. Loves her,” the Hill newspaper quoted a Bannon associate as saying after Bannon arranged for Gabbard to meet Trump following the November 2016 election

Gabbard lays low after voting ‘present’ on impeachment

The Hawaii Democrat’s campaign canceled a media availability in New Hampshire.

Democrats across the political spectrum continue to rip her decision not to vote “yes” or “no,” portraying the move as cowardly and emblematic of how out of touch she is with the Democratic Party she’s seeking to represent.

Gabbard became a trending topic in the U.S. — first by name, then by the hashtag “#TulsiCoward” — Wednesday night and Thursday morning after becoming the lone member of Congress not to take a side on impeachment.

Gabbard’s vote Wednesday was more in line with House Republicans, who voted “no” in a unified bloc. And her “present” vote also revived allegations that she’s a Russian asset who could play spoiler in the general election by running a third-party campaign

Gabbard is frequently mentioned in Russian propaganda and media, and her views on foreign policy have been criticized for aligning too closely with Russia

“Her endgame is to be a famous Fox News commentator and go on there and bash Democrats all day. She speaks more harshly about Hillary Clinton than Bashar al Assad and Donald Trump.”

A former Democratic governor of Hawaii on Monday called on presidential hopeful Tulsi Gabbard to immediately resign from her seat in Congress

According to 2020 Democratic Presidential Primary Polls, not popular with the Democratic Party,

She was endorsed by Republicans,

Gary Johnson, former Republican Governor of New Mexico

Ron Paul, former Representative from Texas (only in primary) (1976–77; 1979–1985; 1997–2013) (Republican)

Mike Gabbard, Hawaii State Senator from District 20 since 2006; Republican nominee for U.S. Representative from HI-02 in 2004; Gabbard's father

Blake Filippi, Rhode Island State Representative from District 36 since 2014 (Republican)

And a couple of white supremacists,

David Duke, white nationalist, former Grand Wizard of the KKK (endorsement rejected by Gabbard)

Richard Spencer, white supremacist

Gabbard consistently polled in single digits in national polls.

Interesting how some US Team Red cheerleaders seem to wish "the dems" would run anyone other than Biden and Harris.  :)

"Some" means not all.  There is a spectrum of opinion - how surprising.

Either the Biden/Harris ticket is strong, or it is not.  Pay less attention to what Republicans are saying, and more to what Democrats are saying.

I think he's honest, sincere, genuinely cares about the people and wants his country to do well.  He will do what's best for the average American and not just the rich.  I also think he has a good relationship with other countries and will not be out to screw them over and threaten them the way the current administration does.

Don’t hold your breath.  Democrats tend to be more protectionist than republicans. I’m not sure they will be much friendlier than the current POTUS in regards to our various trade agreements.

Biden has so much baggage it's laughable he is the nominee.

The current guy has a truck load of baggage...

I’m not sure that’s really a disqualifier.

Hilarious a "Dem" with "so much baggage" has so many endorsements, and the Republican candidate has so few.  :)

Trump’s nomination was laughable to many too. Notwithstanding a baggage train that would rival a Napoleonic army, it did not prevent his election. 2016 saw several bars set lower than most would have expected. Among the many things whose value were cast into doubt that year, the concept of ‘electability’ features prominently. It’s very clear that many things we would have assumed would preclude a candidate from being elected were unwarranted assumptions.

“When you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything.”

In the 21st century, every presidential nominee is a star.

If you think Trump's conduct while in office is lower than Clinton, LBJ, or Kennedy, or even Biden, you are ignoring facts and history.

Depends on whose facts and history is being ignored.

Even notable progressives like Tim Poole don't agree with that sentiment.  In fact, some of these former democrat supporters believe the DNC is purposely trying to lose the election with the Biden/Harris ticket. Poole suggests the DNC would rather not ruin young up and comers in a losing election race this year and save their stars for the 2024 race.  Biden and Harris are expendable.  Considering Harris' dismal performance during the primaries, I tend to agree.

Looks like he's playing the birtherism card. Again.

I suppose "while in office" is an important qualifier.  So far no one has surfaced to claim Trump told a girlfriend to have sex with a presidential procurer/friend in the swimming pool room, or that Trump's vulgar behaviour matches LBJ's, or that Trump has been boffing the interns.

I believe the tangent emerged in the context of the baggage of candidates who have yet to be elected. I and others challenged whether we can really argue that matters anymore.

Another member of the family, this time secretly recorded:

Trump's sister says, in secret recordings, he has 'no principles' and is cruel

U.S. President Donald Trump’s sister, a retired federal judge, called him a liar with “no principles” in audio recordings made public this weekend, the latest attack on the president’s character in the run-up to the Nov. 3 election.

Maryanne Trump Barry, 83, also criticized the Republican president for “phoniness” and “cruelty” in interviews that were secretly recorded by her niece Mary Trump during a series of conversations in 2018 and 2019, according to The Washington Post, which obtained the recordings from her.
