I am joining the reserves, should be sworn in by the end of the month, so they say, anyways I was just wondering at what point should I be saluting officers, what point should I be saying sir and to who? I read that in the regs its not until you pass some level of BMQ that you are required to salut officers? What about in reserves? How will I know who? Should I say sir to everyone?

Sorry for the load of questions. I tried searching here and google but came up blank! I am a little bit overwelmed with it coming up fast but I can't wait to finally get in.

thanks for the help in advance

You'll be instructed when it is, and when it isn't appropriate to salute, and how to salute.

You'll also be instructed how to address everyone.

Stop worrying.

Don't worry to much about that.  One of the first lectures you get is on rank structure and they will tell you what to address people by.  And one of the drill movements you will learn is how to salute.

Good advice passed here.

Locked usual caveats apply.
