I'm 18 years old and I've wanted to be an infantryman for a long time. I applied for infantry and armoured last year when I was finishing high school, but there where no positions available. This year it looks like its going to be the same, but they're accepting applications for combat engineers and I'm trying to decide if I should apply to be a combat engineer or go to France or the UK to join the Foreign Legion or the Royal Marines. I was wondering if any combat engineers could tell me about the job, and if you get to do a lot of operations in direct support of the infantry/armoured?
