Why would a Canadian army parka have no Canadian flag or size tag or other tags on it?
I know someone who got a parka with the following tag : Parka, Extreme Cold Weather Combat Og107,1974 about 18 years ago from someoneone who lived in Canada (funny thing, I live in Canada now btw). At the time, it was a worn item but in very good condition. I have no idea how old it is. The parka is made of solid, excellent quality materials (waterproof and extremely warm), and comes with a removable, warm lining and warm lined hood. There is one body tag only and it says the model above and the instructions for care both in English and French. I have found online stores selling replicas of this model and a couple of used ones on ebay for sale. However the two I've found on ebay have a second tag with size label, a tag on the hood, and a small Canadian flag on the sleeve. Why does my friend's parka only has one tag, no other tag with size or serial number and no Canadian flag ? Because the body tag is readable and the parka vis in very good condition I don't believe it lost its tags with washing or use (there are no signs of previous tags). What are the rules for Og107,1974 regarding these details and what are the differences between the parkas worn by Canadian military vs the ones that can be purchased in stores and online ? How do I track the fabrication year my friend's parka parka ? Why would it have no other tags on it ? Thank you.
