The possible murder in a Saudi consulate of a Saudi citizen has the world's attention. The initial reaction by the Saudi government hasn't helped. The government may have to throw someone under the bus. Considering this would be a capital crime finding a volunteer would be remote. The crown may have to pay off the widow as part of any deal or in the future pay the Russians to do the dirty work.

I get the feeling the gov't has closed the books on this one. Plus, I imagine there being a cancellation fee.

On the other side, if they ever wanted to cancel the deal that bad, now would be the time.

If we were to buy them instead, would we have to reconfigure them to different roles? Replace almost everything with a LAV variant?

Looks like the King has stepped up to try damage control a sign the Crown Prince may wind up having some powers curbed.

Washington Post and AP report US intelligence officials concluded Mohammed bin Salman ordered killing of Jamal Khashoggi

All the outlets are carrying this one.

It's a good thing Trump has already expressed his lack of faith in the conclusions of his own intelligence service and dealt with the political backlash from that, otherwise this would've been very inconvenient news for him.
