Military Recruiting Exceeds Targets

"In the 2001-2002 fiscal year the forces attracted about 11,000 people, almost evenly divided between the full-time service personnel and the reserves, White said. Another 11,000 were recruited for 2002-2003, with nearly 7,000 soldiers for the regular forces and 4,000 for the reserves.

The aggressive recruiting campaign has drawn three times as many applicants as there are available places, White said - and that means the military has been able to raise its recruiting standards."

Any thoughts?

In the Army Reserves, the attrition rate is down to about 16% this past fiscal year from 30%. Some units are even reporting attrition at 6%.

By "Attrition Rate" do you refer to people who flunk out of Basic and Battleschool or people who join the reserves, then quit after a few months due to school or other commitments?

does anyone know the "recruitment standards" for getting into the (reg force) infantry as a ncm? does anyone know how many people apply for infantry compared to the demand for infantry ncms in the reg force? :cdn:
