I have finished week four of my training in BMQ and I am worried that I will soon forget the drill movements. Is there a resource to help me while do it everyday over the winter break?

I would prefer a video where they do the mark time forward and halt, dressing, salute on the march becuase those are the hardest for me. Out of the whole training, the drill is the most difficult thing for me.

I have been doing what I can by myself just based on memory. I don't think it is adequate. That's why I am asking for a video.

There will be a couple of dozen (older) people on here with a tear of joy in their eyes right now... just sayin' ;)

But seriously though, if you have a BMQ buddy you can trust I'd suggest getting together and practicing. Just like anything else, this stuff can be better learned as a team.

And it's harmless fun to throw a brisk 'eyes right' at random strangers...

Don’t sweat it. Drill is very much like riding a bike once you get the hang of it.

Eventually you can turn your brain off and just do it. Don’t overthink the movements as most follow a logical sequence.

The drill Pam is actually online and open source. Videos can be tough to follow something if the sound isn’t just right so you can hear when and what is being called. Buddy system and mirror work helps. The Pam will break it down into the various parts like in your lesson.

understanding what foot a movement is called on and realise that an additional check pace is taken in most cases before executed its gets easier.

Just remember that the sequence is normally logical from one step to the next (ie there is only one possible way to continue)

try YouTube if you really want a video as there are some on it. Special search is the umbrella drill video.

Be cautious of watching drill videos, it could be a great way to learn a bad habit or the wrong movements. If it isn't an official CAF video it could be someone no better at drill than you, but with the confidence to record it.

Your staff will expect you to be a bit rusty when you get back from the Christmas break. Read the manual, and practice the movements in squads in front of a mirror at home if you're super worried.
