It's already Chinese New Year here in Hong Kong, where I am spending the next several weeks, so "Gong hei fat choy" (which isn't about the new year, per se, but is how we wish one another prosperity in Cantonese) to one and all in the Year of the Chicken (or Rooster, if you like).

...and here I am still writing Monkey on all my cheques...

Where are my Red Envelopes?  >:D

ETA:

恭喜发财,红包拿来  Gōngxǐ fācái, hóngbāo ná lái - "Wishing you happiness and prosperity; now give me a red envelope."

(Use this to greet someone if you're expecting lucky money. Only say this to close friends and relations. Don't say it to strangers or in a formal setting, to avoid looking presumptuous or ridiculous.)

:)

Can't do anything about that, but I can make you homesick:

Why aren't you married?  Why don't your parents have grandchildren?  Why aren't you a doctor?

And of course, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onIpx7VPAX8

Haha!  I have 2 (younger) cousins getting married* this summer - I'll have to send that to them!

*Not to each other - what do you think this is, South Mountain NS?
