It is in the Canadian Forces Leave Policy Manual, A-PP-005-LVE/AG-001, Section 5.11 (available on the internet) under Special Leave (mission).

CDIO 1000s series would have the answer, IIRC it doesn't have to be 3 days it can be cut as required. Key in the consideration is ensuring that post deployment admin that is crucial is completed before a mbr goes on leave.

Not at work right now, but will post the DWAN links tomorrow

It is in CDIO 1000 1.3-12.E paras 2 and 3 (SharePoint link below)

2. The Partial Workday Program (PWP) at the Home Unit Location. The gradual return to normalcy at the home unit location is important to enable members and their families to adjust before members proceed on post deployment leave. The need for this PWP will be assessed by the TF Comd based on the same factors used to determine the requirement for a Phase Two Decompression Program. When a Phase Two Decompression Program is not established then a PWP shall be implemented at the home unit. In some situations both a Phase Two Decompression Program and a PWP may be implemented.  PWP is not applicable to personnel on TD except in exceptional circumstances.
3. The PWP shall consist of a minimum of one and up to three partial-day workdays (not including travel time to the home unit location, weekends, statutory holidays or post deployment leave entitlements) at the home unit during which members accomplish administrative or other tasks and acclimatize themselves to the home unit setting. PWP should not be focused on completion of the Immediate Post Deployment Administration detailed in the preceding paragraph.

The preceding paragraph has to do with immediate post deployment admin and AAG.
