Unfortunately the holiday season just fell at a lousy time ;D. Need to get my training back to where it was pre-chocolate and massive turkey dinner season ;).
Keep in mind that even if they don't catch it visually you still need to inform them about it. You really should not hide any medical information from them. They need to know not just for the safety of people that may rely on you but for your own safety as well.
edit:grammar fix
Depends on your CFRC. Mine I had to say over the phone I accepted then also send an email reply saying I was accepting the offer. I was told there was no need to sign the paperwork as I would be doing that before my enrolment ceremony. If in doubt call your recruiter and double check they have...
Try emailing/phoning your recruiter, they may still be trying to figure out the best time.
In my experience the day I was given my offer I was asked if I would prefer the oath or affirmation, if I planned on having visitors, and was given the time to show up for my ceremony (though the time...
Make sure to do pushups multiple times a day (I do morning and lunch) as well and you will find you make large gains in no time. A large part of it (at least for me) was getting my body use to the idea of how to do a pushups and do them efficiently. This means the first month you will be able to...
As soon as you said that I realised I was vastly overestimating how much weight 50lbs is.
I'm not worried about short term, making you stronger, good for the soul pain. I've just seen enough friends and family with slipped disc injuries and vertebral fractures (though that is normally the older...
What would be a good way to add ruck walks to a routine? I am fearful of just throwing a bunch of weight into any old backpack and going for a walk as I know that they do not distribute the weight properly. The last thing anyone wants is long term back problems or god forbid an injury severe...
BlueAngels, I received the phone call on a Monday morning, then I had the email with all the new paperwork to be filled out and the formal offer letter later that same day. I would definitely call the recruiting center if you have not heard anything yet. They may have the wrong email or it may...
Look at this thread here, it has a lot of application process samples and gives a good idea of general timelines. Everyone's application will move at a different rate due to personal issues (medical issues, CFAT scores, etc.) and bureaucratic issues (e.g., busier than normal recruiting centre...
I was wondering if anyone knew of any upcoming selection dates for SigO? I just found out my application is undergoing final processing and I'm hoping it won't be for a couple weeks so that I can (hopefully) be merit listed before the selection date.
Thanks!
Contact your recruiting center. I know they took copies of everything when I brought in my documentation and you can check and see if you at least have a copy on file. They would also likely know the best course of action to take regarding not having an original.
I think it needs to be clarified that Respectyoualls complaint wasn't about the the entire process just about the wait for medicals, and while I do agree with everything you said ThatOneRecruit it important to separate the parts of the process where the waits are affected by credentials and the...
Haha 3 months.. I'm currently in week 16 of waiting. It takes time and it is what it is. Complaining does nothing to hurry it up, at least I would rather the problem of too much time than not enough time.
edit: a word
There is also a theory similar to the Peter Principle called the Dilbert Principle. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dilbert_principle. This basically says you promote them because they are incompetent, so they cause less damage to the immediate workflow. Normally this is meant for more technical...
I'd be interested to see if this also agrees with the current scientific research showing that childhood abuse can be a predictor of later PTSD development after deployment. (Research study by Dorthe Berntsen of Aarhus University in Denmark)
This is the recruits only Forum, you may want to ask this on the other sections of the recruiting form where people such as DAA can respond. To check BMOQ start dates though one option is to go the the CFLRS website and check the graduation ceremonies. For example the schedule appears to be up...
Make sure to study hard, there is a large difference between reaching the minimum and being competitive. Talk to the recruiting centre and see if they can tell you which section of the CFAT you need the most work on, unless you already know. Also one trap I almost fell into was thinking since my...
As a tip you will be better off going to Google and just adding the line "site:army.ca" at the end of your search. For example, search "Am I told old to join the forces site:army.ca". This works much better (in my opinion) than the in site search bar and will return more relevant results.
I don't mean to second guess a member of the forces as they have much more knowledge than I do on the subjects rather I just want to give the story that happened to myself. When I went in for my interview I asked about the now hiring on the website and the recruiter informed me that the website...
